Mcdermott looks nice on paper...but honestly....this team would be in wild card contention with a 15 year old calling madden plays.

You can just see the difference between Reid and Mcdermott when they play each other. We blitz...Reid has more answers. They blitz we dont. Reid just has the team playing right at the right times.

At this point its worth trying something new.

We believe as long as Allen is on the team they can make a playoff run right? So why not look for something that could get us over that hump.

I think adjustments are huge and we never adjusted,  yes the refs missed that spot on both 3rd and 4th down.  First McDermott should have been complaining or asking about 3rd down spot which was off and when tush-push not work going left because KC was loading up on that side with big boys then why did they not let Josh run right with run/pass option?

I think if you look historically those changes work out worse more times than not.

Belichick has said he doesn’t want back in the NFL but I see your point.

Has he actually said this?

You talk about McD looking good “on paper”, and Reid having more answers, then put this in the OP.

“At this point its worth trying something new.”

OK, what can we try that is better than what we have? I don’t really think a 15 year old would do better. McD has the second best winning percentage in professional sports in North America over the last 5 years. We are just stuck behind the Chiefs, who are #1. New flash! They are beating everyone else too!

EDIT: I don’t mean to pick on you, but this was all so predictable. The fans whining bother me about as much as the loss. We had a pretty darn good year, and while I’m disappointed I can appreciate what we witnessed and look forward to our future.

.

How is me saying lets try someone else crazier than.....lets keep the guy who continues to fail when it matters the most?

What im saying isnt crazy and just because I dont have the answer doesnt mean its not a viable thing to do.

You can roll the dice. I like the guy who has us in contention every year as a perennial SB favorite. You may get another Rex or who knows what. There is a very significant risk that the team slides backward. McD would be unemployed for just a few minutes until he decided which job he’d like next. The next fanbase would be THRILLED to have him.

It’s certainly not perfect, but I like the idea of letting him continue to grow in the job. It took Ried quite a few years to get his first ring.

Oh, and then there is this:

It should be Terry telling the coaching staff. Not Josh.

This is his last season. Now it’s always a year to year league but going to make acquisitions that you would think improve the roster in the staff’s mind.

You either

a) have continuity in the core staff and players like the Chiefs

or

b) you make changes in the staff and players you need to accentuate Super Bowl aspirations like Philadelphia.

We have tried the option a. It hasn’t cut the mustard. You now go to option b like Philly did. All their additions to staff and roster is why they’re in the Super Bowl. Sure, drafting has something to do with it but the players who’ve shined the brightest this year, especially in the playoffs were added in some aspect be it this year or prior.

AJ Brown & Darius Slay from prior.
Saquon, CJGJ & Zack Baun this year.

On top of that, they’ve absolutely knocked it out of the park with some of their picks. Especially the past 2 drafts.

We don’t have the means to pay or bring in high end talent. I doubt we trade for it and the picks where the biggest necessity for immediate impact are made just haven’t cut it. The later rounds being fantastic can’t be an excuse any more.

They need to make home run moves like Philly did this past draft and FA window.

McD makes the Super Bowl or you move on. No if’s and’s or but’s.

McD started this amazing culture change by taking Buffalo into the playoffs with Tyrod Taylor behind Center after a 2 decade drought.

Considering the player turnover Buffalo overachieved this season in my humble opinion.

Sounds like something A Rodgers might do OP.

Yeah.  This will happen.

Give me the names of 2 HCs that you think would be absolute upgrades and would achieve what you want.  Two that are better than Reid.

No one is better than Reid.  But how about Spagnola? His D is clearly superior to McDs.  So we improve our D and weaken theirs in one hire.  We could retain Brady if you wish but I think I’d hire someone like Pederson

for the record, at this moment, I’m keeping McD but insisting he replace both coordinators with proven winners from outside the org.

Allen gets whatever he wants.

The biggest risk isn’t what we do with McDermitt, or Beane, or how we approach the draft, or whether or not to cut bait on Von’s money,,,, etc etc

The only risk is that Josh suddenly wakes up and feels he’s had enough with Buffalo. Not exactly his character, but that’s the risk.

I think Brady is OK, but if a change were made Peterson would be a good choice.  I saw McD and Babich change from the historical zone concept this year; lot more man.  I think we need some more athleticism on the back end and more pass rush.  I could see Mack being here nrext year, or if I’m Beane I find out what it takes to get Garrett or Parsons.

I think the hardest thing in sports is figuring out who will or will not be a great head guy in whatever sport you want to name.  More times than not you elevate a really good coordinator, but what is needed for a good coordinator doesn’t necessarily match that needed to be a great head coach.

So after 4 months you're suddenly going to reappear after the Bills are eliminated so you can start spouting stupid shlt.

Goodbye troll.

Thank you.  I was waiting for the punk (Airseven) to make his return.  Talked crap about the Bills until about early October when they started their win streak, then disappears until Monday.  And pretends he’s a Bills fan…

Not having an answer is crazier than pointing out the problem that you ask to solve.     It's like said:  look, the child has a nosebleed and wait for someone to come and solve it.

Most  people want a change believing it is for the better, but most of the time it is for the worse.

This is because of Josh Allen....

As soon as Andy Reid got mahomes he won the super bowl in year 2

There are answers.

Sean Payton was a real answer

Trading for Kyle Shanahan is something I would think about

Ben Johnson was just available.... Maybe he's a young bill Walsh

We have to try man

Sean Payton lost playoff games to Rex Grossman, Case Keenum, Alex Smith and Kirk Cousins. All while having a future first ballot HoFer at QB.

Kyle Shanahan's playcalling has cost teams two Superbowls - Atlanta as OC and his first as HC in San Fran.

We will see on Ben Johnson. I do like him, hope he is successful.

I just don't think these "answers" are unblemished records either.

What do you think burrow would've done to this defense if they got in?

Maybe then McDermott truthers could see the light

McDermott detractors must understand that a change is simply a change.   i'm open to a change but also understand  that whoever  comes don't will be necessary better, like more Madden-thinkers  believe
