If the Bills were in the NFC they probably would’ve been to multiple SB’s by now. Our luck just sucks. We’ve had to battle against the two of greatest QB’s of all time in Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady.

There are a lot of teams in the NFL with franchise QB’s that are watching us in the playoffs every year. We are in contention every single year so whatever McDermott is preaching in that building is clearly working. Not a lot of teams can say that.

Just read the article........."it's not that they have the wrong players, they have the wrong coach", pretty well says it all, but i'm not ready to give up on McD just yet.

I don't know how he's going to get us over the hump, but it seems that hill is getting a little higher every year.

The article posted today is a tiny fluff piece with no data to back it up. Just one guy saying the Bills need a new coach (...nothing to see here).

But, I missed this thread when it came around the first time. Looking at the poll, it is pretty interesting. It looks like most of the votes were made between 1/27 and 1/29, just after the loss in the Championship game.

Exactly 300 Bills fans responded to the poll and if I condense all of the poll options into just two categories---those that think McD should stay and those who think its time for a change---it seems that the Mafia is split right down the middle, with 50.67% of voters thinking McD should stay and 49.33% thinking its time for a change. If this poll is a true representation of the larger Bills fandom (and opinions haven't changed with a little distance from the loss), then we are truly a divided nation.

He's been here what 8 or 9 years. At some point he should be held accountable for the playoff failures. Same thing goes for Beane, but they won't as I don't see Terry firing them yet.

Honestly, he should have been held accountable after 13 seconds, but then again as Bills fans, we keep thinking well maybe next year, but the following year is no different in the post season.

How much longer do Sean McDermott and Brandon Beane get?

If Allen stays for the duration of his current deal he will have been with the Bills 11-seasons.

Allen is 32/33 years old and never made a Super Bowl appearance if things stay the same.

Why would anyone think it's a good idea to wait this long?

I think the smart thing is to evaluate McDermott and Beane on a year by year basis going forward.

The fact that McDermott survived 13-seconds means he already used his get out of jail free card. In the years since the DC has been changed, the OC has been changed twice, now the ST coordinator has been changed.

Beane's model of draft, develop and retain has produced a decent roster around Allen, but it's expensive. You're paying Allen a large contract (although not top market rate), Dawkins $20M, Von $20M, Oliver $20M, Knox $14M and so on. Hence all the calls for Beane to draft better.

It seems like a good percentage of fans view this as "we are now committed to McDermott and Beane come hell or high water" and if we win a single Super Bowl that's good enough.

Like I sarcastically said in another thread, maybe keep McDermott and Beane in place until Allen is 36 years old. Then we can definitely say that we gave all parties enough time, then, and only then, can Allen finally get a crack at it with another Coach, preferably an offensive minded Head Coach. And also don't dare want to play anywhere else Allen, or you've turned your back on WNY.

I don't know - maybe win the Super Bowl in 2025 and avoid all of this. 🤷‍♂️
