Trying to be fair. Losing in the championship game hardly means it was a bad season.

On the other hand, never getting further than the championship game with the best QB in franchise history in seven seasons is disappointing.

Which poll choice comes closest to your viewpoint at this time?

Josh Allen is the QB. Every coach in the world would want to coach him. The Bills could have their pick. Coaches that win it all are usually a genius on at least one side of the ball. We have literally lost because of McDermott's defense so he does not check that box as well as he is not good at situational football. What does he bring to the table then?

I am not a McDermott fan. But he seems to have succeeded in building a team, rather than a collection of individuals.  Team building is an important skill.  He seems to be a players coach.  From a players perspective that is a good thing.  I think he brings those things to the table.  In fact, it seems like he may very well be great at all of the coaching elements that occur before game day, and maybe only an average game day coach.

So you think the results may be a little skewed given its less than 12 hours after them losing one of the biggest games in franchise history?

They lose one of the biggest games in franchise history every year

If I was going to make a theoretical change of our HC, I would explore a trade with the Steelers to get Tomlin.

No. He gets marginal players to play above their capabilities, but he’s terrible in the post season.

Sean stays. Last night doesn’t do anything to discourage me that’s he’s our best option at HC.

You like punting from inside the opponents 40, huh?

I agree.  I was speaking in the theoretical.  People always think the grass will be greener, but more times than not it's brown.  That said, we need an infusion of talent on both sides of the ball.

Depends on the circumstance

The thing that makes my blood boil is that I know Bill Belichick would win a Super Bowl with Josh Allen.  I just know Bill would have answers in the biggest games.

McDermott should have been fired last year when Bill became available.

No idea who you are hiring if you get rid of McDermott.

I would turf the special teams coach

I never heard of Sean McVay before he was hired. Has been to two super bowls.  I don't love Nick Sirianis, but he is on his way to his second super bowl.  Never heard of him before being hired either.  This is my assessment of Sean McDermott :  Demonstrated ability to win a weak AFC divison with Top 3 QB in the NFL, occassionally gets past divsional round, maybe some day will get to a super bowl or win a super bowl.

I suspect a lot of coachs fit that description.  But it seems like some fans think "unless you can guarantee a super bowl win with a coaching change, you can't even consider a coaching change".

For me I am not sure why giving the same person the "Maybe some day" chance, is better than giving multiple people that chance.  McDermott is in rare terrority for longevity with one team without championship success.

Come on, Chaos!  You're better than that...

Such an awful poll, options, clearly designed to be ultra negative, with comically worded choices for those who feel differently than you.

You have created a hater thread here, and that is what it will become.

McDermott's scheme isn't good enough to stop the best teams, and it's seemingly the same no matter who the players are out there. We've spent more capital on the D-Line than any other position, and the results are identical every post-season. That's scheme.

We've gotten the Chiefs to punt like 6 times in the last 4 meetings, that should tell you all you need to know. Either Beane gets lucky and we draft some All-Pro D Line talent or we just do the same thing over next season, barring changing the coaching staff (which I don't think we'll do).

EDIT: And just because I'm feeling extra snarky, look at the guys from the D-Line who joined other teams. Poona Ford and Tim Settle had decent seasons after doing nothing with the Bills.  What does that tell you? Scheme matters.

You would punt, too, if Russel Wilson and Justin Fields were your QBs. Steelers offense was so anemic by the end of the year that they had a better chance of scoring with their defense on the field.
