DuckyBoys Posted yesterday at 01:18 AM Posted yesterday at 01:18 AM I keep the two separate I enjoy the season and the fact that on most weeks the Bills put on a show and win. Plus were watching a once in a lifetime thing w Josh But.... I wish we'd could get past the Chiefs and take the next step. The thought of Josh playing out a career on the Bills without bringing at least one SB trophy is very depressing. 1 Quote

I really enjoyed taking down the Chiefs, Lions, and Niners (in the snow!) this year. I loved rushing for like 200+ yards against the Cowboys last season and just kicking their ass physically. I'll never ever forget the thrill and jumping up and down like a madman with my 65 year old Father when Taron had the 101 yard pick six. Heck, my family still talks about Josh's first win all the time, storming into Minnesota and putting on a show as 17 point dogs. You're really missing the point of it all by choosing to not enjoy the journey. Sucks for you. There is just the dread that the journey is over and the Bills are at the plateau. A very high one but a plateau all the same. Quote

All the little things were more enjoyable. But being a contender with a real Hof QB and not breaking through is honestly like experiencing tragedy and real life as you get older and understanding the real world.... We're going to look back on this era and it's going to be very painful and lots of what ifs.... This is actually a pretty spot on analogy! 1 Quote
BillMafia716ix Posted yesterday at 02:13 AM Posted yesterday at 02:13 AM I don’t know about most fans, but I like competing in playoff games with a chance to win a championship. Not looking at mock drafts in December. I never want to go back to those days. That’s such loser mentality Quote

It’s the only thing that’s missing- but it’s not the only thing that matters. I love watching Josh Allen and the boys play every week. I enjoy it much more than I enjoyed any team in the drought years. These failures will make the success much more sweet when it comes our way Yeah if it's not a life choice being a Bills fan then it's probably just an OCD or something unhealthy. Finish line fans. I'd rather have 10 straight AFC East championships with outstanding QB play and no SB's than a few good years and a one-off SB win followed by mediocrity like Tampa Bay had with Brad Johnson/Gruden and thereafter until Brady blessed them with his presence. The objective every year is to win the SB and I will express my opinions about how to get there..........but the journey is the actual reward or you are doing it wrong. If they never win one, so be it. The SB rings are for the players, the trophies are for the owner. The fans get no hardware we get the entertainment and you can have most of that even if they don't win the SB. 4 1 1 Quote

Mikie2times Posted yesterday at 03:58 AM Posted yesterday at 03:58 AM (edited) Good post OP, I have often felt the same way about this situation. But we have to learn to enjoy the ride and be thankful for the ride. To me this is like a great relationship. When you don’t have one and it’s what you want it sort of gets you down, but if you lose one you really care about it can really rock you. In the end life is about the emotions, the swings, and the vulnerability. You just aren’t as vulnerable when you have nothing. Edited yesterday at 03:59 AM by Mikie2times Quote

teef Posted yesterday at 03:23 PM Posted yesterday at 03:23 PM how any well adjusted person could think this is worse that the drought is beyond me. we actually have a chance to go to a super bowl when years ago we would talk about how this team could never handle the playoffs. there's too many fragile older men on this site. ***** sack up. 1 Quote
BILLS 4 EVER Posted yesterday at 03:27 PM Posted yesterday at 03:27 PM I can't even get mad knowing that the fix was in. We have to be so much better to beat the Chiefs and the Refs on the road. I'm super disappointed but after seeing all the blown calls over and over again, I just lose all respect for the integrity of the game and the NFL. Quote

The hope came from the idea that “Once we get our franchise QB, it will be our time”. - Now that we have our franchise QB, and he is 7 years in, where should our hope come from? Hope that Spags gets a head-coaching job and leaves the Chiefs? Hope that our OC doesn’t run the same failing play five times? Hope that he doesn’t run the same 4th down beater that he has all year? Hope that Beane finally starts nailing first round picks? Hope that he stops trading with our arch-nemesis and giving them players that will beat us in big games? Seriously - where should the hope come from? - The goal is the Super Bowl. There are 30 failures every year. Some posters think the season was successful even without making it. My opinion on that doesn’t matter. Just look to Allen and McD. Did you see Josh Allen’s press conference? Do you think he thinks it was a successful season? Not a chance. He spoke all year about the goal. McD did too. I am a diehard Allen fan - watch almost everything he does. I have NEVER seen him that dejected. Ever. He barely spoke. The team knows the season was a failure. It doesn’t matter that we beat Miami in Week 3 or whatever. - Some posters think we should be thankful for getting as far as we do and just enjoy the ride. I honestly respect those posters and that line of thinking. I WISH I could understand it. Unfortunately, no matter how hard I try, I can’t get there. If anything, getting closer to the SB but not making it is worse in my opinion. Yeah, the Bills have an opportunity every year to win 3 playoff games and get there … but if we never do it, we’ll the actual difference between the Jets and the Bills is simply a worse draft pick. - How does one continue to get happy over the regular seasons triumphs, knowing that the postseason will bring yet another failure? Well, we typically turn to hope. But hope of what!? No one knows that for certain if this team with new players make it to the post season will bring another failure that's just well you know where i'm going with that ! Listen to Josh he said he had to learn from it he said if he didn't drop that snap and lose yards and did a quick dart to Coop it would have been 3rd & 1 instead of 3rd and 12 or what ever, you can bet Brady learned from the tush push not working as well as it did during the season and will have a different call if they get stopped repeatedly, and no one can say that watching this team perform the way they do you won't have faith in them getting to the big game and if that's the way you feel then go be a Browns fan and see how you like that . I for the life of me don't get it ! We are so freakin spoiled with having a winning team and yes with that the expectations are much higher but how many other teams were watching the Bills play last week that just wished they were there & most of them were on the Bills side hoping they could dethrone the Chiefs just as they did when Brady was on the Pats . The only difference when Brady was playing is we as Bills fans knew we didn't have a snow balls chance in hell of sniffing the play offs let alone making it to the AFC Championship game let alone the super bowl because Brady would make dam good and sure we wouldn't, so it was the norm and we got use to it now we are use to going to the play offs every one knows as long as Josh is here that will be the least of our expectations . And although it SUCKS when we get that close it is one of the hardest things to beat a generational talent both in players and coaches to make it to the top then you add to that some of the calls by the refs that's one hell of a mountain to climb but i have faith that this group some way some how will bring that to light for the Bills and their fans . And if by some chance it doesn't happen just like in the 90's it will be one hell of a ride and i will be rooting for the boys the entire way because that's what real Bills fans do !! GO BILLS !!! Nihilarian Posted yesterday at 03:42 PM Posted yesterday at 03:42 PM As badly as most Buffalo Bills fans feel right now I'm pretty certain that the Dolphins, NY Jets, and NE Patriots fans would trade positions in a heartbeat. Yes, it sucks for us fans...now imagine how the players feel about being ONE game short of the Super Bowl. Think of it...this was supposed to be a rebuilding year as we lost Diggs, Gabe Davis, Micha Hyde, and Jordon Poyer. 13-4, Division Champs and all the way to the AFC Championship game...I'll take it. Now that Diggs and his cap hit are history, Von Miller might also be gone. Bills fans should be excited about what's to come, considering that this team only needs a few players to go all the way: CB, S, DT, and EDGE. By the way, I'm boycotting the SB because the league refuses to utilize the proper technology to spot accurate first downs. The fact that this league still uses chains to mark first-downs makes me wonder if it's still the 1940s. In my opinion, the league gave that game to the Chiefs for all the new millions of Swifty fans. Quote
