BuffaloBill Posted Monday at 11:31 AM Posted Monday at 11:31 AM Joe Marino offers an adult perspective on the loss. Perhaps his best quote came via Beane: ”strengths get you to the playoffs, weaknesses get you eliminated” The Bills were in a rebuild year and they had several weaknesses. This is worth a listen. 1 1 4 4 Quote
Pete Posted Monday at 11:36 AM Posted Monday at 11:36 AM Joe is the best. I love his takes; I love how even he is. When Bills lose, he is a voice of reason. He calmly breaks down what went wrong, how to fix, and what Bills are doing right. Hes never too high on Bills, or too low. Just awesome info worlds ahead of other sources 4 5 1 Quote
PromoTheRobot Posted Monday at 01:21 PM Posted Monday at 01:21 PM I haven't listened to his newest pod yet, but I agree with your assessment of his takes. He's not someone who looks at an outcome and knee-jerks to an obvious take. He has an understanding of the game that 99% of fans lack. 1 Quote
KentuckyBillsFan Posted Monday at 01:24 PM Posted Monday at 01:24 PM The problem is that our weaknesses have been our weaknesses for many years now. The people in charge of correcting them haven’t proven they are capable of doing so. 1 4 1 8 Quote

He is generally very insightful with his analysis. 1 Quote

My only criticism of this theory is how does a team that has spent to the cap year in and year out...still have as many weaknesses as the Bills do? How does a team that works to get extra picks year in and year out....still have as many weaknesses as we do. Our weakness is drafting mediocre players with a perceived high upside that they rarely teach while simultaneously handing out bad contracts to players that underperform. 1 1 Quote

Every team has weaknesses - keep in mind it comes down to the other team’s ability to exploit your weaknesses. The Chiefs, sadly for us as fans, have been better at it repeatedly. One thing thing Joe mentioned was slow starts have hurt the Bills repeatedly all season - it really hurt last night. I have no idea whether this is the case or not but Josh came out tight and nervous. He reverted to “bad Josh.” At the end of the day, like it or not the game was repeatedly in his hands and yes he came up big a few times., just not enough. Marino also said maybe this was in part due to Kincaid and Josh not developing the type of chemistry that could have been expected. Josh really had no single person to turn to in a jam. JA even tried to get Coleman “go get’ ‘em” balls to Keon and it was not there. Part of why I listen to Marino is that he is objective. Fans and talking heads rant and point at what are often meaningless things. 2 Quote
The Firebaugh Kid Posted Monday at 05:57 PM Posted Monday at 05:57 PM Joe is absolutely phenomenal. He’s the only one I’ll listen to. PS: Dan Mitchell is a tool. And the Italian guy from New York City he has to go away, nobody likes that crap. Bandwagon boolsit. Influencer nonsense. 1 Quote

What you miss is that in a “rebuild” year the Bills are very close. We are likely 1 or two players and about 5 plays away from breaking through. The difference is razor thin. The truth of the matter is that the Bills have to renter the fight and it begins today. The upcoming changes to the roster are critical as is the process of self scouting. Should the Bills just lay down and quit? 3 Quote

Have you seen New Orleans cap numbers? Inferior teams are over the cap. The good news- 2025 Chiefs have big cap issues and decisions Quote

Most of the players were drafted about where they were projected. I’ve been wondering about this staff’s player development capabilities. Quote

tigerthelion Posted Tuesday at 01:30 PM Posted Tuesday at 01:30 PM (edited) Funny how the Chiefs were in a "rebuild year" two years ago and won a Super Bowl. Always "next year", eh? Edited Tuesday at 01:30 PM by tigerthelion 1 Quote

We need to go all in on an elite pass rusher and more defined weapons on offense. We need a playmaker at WR….a real go to guy to pair with Shakur, Hollins and Coleman. Quote

But trusting Beane to sign the right free agents and drafting when he’s proven over and over again the ability or the talent to identify and fix our problems is not his strength. 1 Quote
TheBeaneBandit Posted Tuesday at 01:39 PM Posted Tuesday at 01:39 PM I don't feel any better. We had a very injury friendly year. That likely doesn't happen again. 1 1 Quote
