It's funny how people deluded themselves that the Bills were "saving" something for the postseason.

I was screaming for this, but for whatever reason we never used their over-commitment against them. When people say our coaches are letting us down, this is what they're talking about. There was a big play waiting to be made against the stacked, sell-out defense KC was using against the QB sneak to the left and our staff just either doesn't see it, doesn't know what to do, or simply doesn't care.

or a classic go 4 wide with a rb and josh under center. Essentially force them to defend more than 1 sq yard. josh can still find a crease or if they put 9 guys over the LG there’s an option to get out of the play

Doesn't even take Bobby Fischer to think of trying a tush push to the right.

But with limited practice time they probably never worked on it.

Or a fake

Yeah, this one is definitely on Brady.  I realize KC isn't using the "push" anymore because of Mahomes' injury a few years ago, but I absolutely guarantee that Andy Reid would have multiple variations.  All KC did was put Chris Jones in the way and slant in that direction.  Doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that you should probably try something else.

How about just a normal RB run that was working all game?

that would make too  much sense...better to have your best RB on the bench for important plays

I know Josh had it working all year long but if you do it once and they stone you at the line and you do it again and they stone you at the line AGAIN then change something ! I'm no football guy but come on .

Brady couldn't see that it wasn't working but they went 0 for 4 .

Still Love my Bills and will still be on the edge of my seat again next season GO BILLS !!!!

Yeah, after the second attempt got stoned I was assuming there would be some kind of rollout or bootleg or RPO.  That was clearly on the coaching, and that would be on Brady.  Unless Brady suggested it to McDermott and Sean told him no, just keep doing the simple stuff.

Arrowhead is a natural grass field. They weren't getting the normal push on a lot those plays. I would bet that the overall results of this play were effected by the field surface combined with how KC was defending and the fact that Chris Jones is a difference maker on the interior.

They didn't adjust.

I am baffled by this.

Final drive to win the game and Cook is not on the field.

He had two monster TD and looked possessed.

Thought that all along, at least on Third down, Spencer, Anderson, Hollins on the Right side and run Cook away from the defense.

KC has Chris Jones, the best DT in all of football, coupled with beefy LB's.

These coaches get paid too much money to not see that.

It might have something to do with the fact that if he goes left the ball is protected on the inside in his right arm. And if he goes right, it's massively exposed to being knocked out.

OR

it might just be that Josh and the entire Bills coaching team didn't think of ever going the other way. Because that would such as an obscure and expert concept reserved only for the TBD brains trust and  chess grandmasters.

Every team has those quality control and video analysts who track tendencies, etc. Ernie Adams on Belichick's Pats got famous for that.

Question on the tush push: what percentage of times they used it did Allen veer to the left? I'm guessing it was 100%. And it took all year for someone - the Chiefs, the best organization today in the NFL - to figure it out and finally stop it. I'm sure they're ready for the Philly version too.

Even though the Tush Push worked all season long, I thought to myself during the regular season "Maybe the Bills should run it to the right once in a while just to keep Defenses honest.", but since it always worked, I didn't give that concept much thought after a while.

When it was blatantly obvious the Chiefs were ready for the push to the left, it should've been obvious to have a call to change it up and run it to the right. Its not like running it towards Torrence and Brown would be a bad idea anyway. This is something the Bills coaching staff should've been prepared for weeks ago, but they continued to run the same play over and over again despite the fact it was not working like it usually does.

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, while expecting a different result......that was some insane play calling right there.

I like the point but I am wondering if the Eagles did this?

Against KC need to show them things they haven't seen. They were clearly prepared for how the Bills run the tush push and yet we continued to do it. I think the Bills coaches think they can do whatever and the opposing team can't stop them. Have to throw wrinkles at them and keep them off balance. Will say the same for McDermott's defense. Just too easy for Mahomes. KC coaching staff just better than Buffalo no arguing it.

Idk seemed like we picked up a half yard minimum on every sneak last night (including the one where we apparently didn’t 😂)

if it’s a full yard I get the outrage a little more, stopping a half yard or less sneak is borderline impossible (and I don’t believe the chiefs did).

if we did some rpo/lined up josh in the shotgun and got blown up there this board would’ve absolutely melted down over not attempting a sneak lol

Tell me if I’m crazy for thinking this. But could he hold the ball in the other arm?
