I feel so bad for us Bills fans. The fact so

many fans want to fire the guy is sad.

There isn’t another coach in the NFL that does better vs the Chiefs in the world, but we believe someone will be better.

Josh Allen has only gone lights out 1 time vs KC. It’s not like we’re blowing historic performance after historic performance. And that 1 historic performance vs KC wasn’t even better than Mahomes that day.

The right plan is to keep chopping at that wood. We are so close.

Our QB was throwing to Mack Hollins, a second round pick who seems to only want to play Patty cake with CB’s, a TE with no hands, and a good slot guy.

Mahomes was throwing to a future HoF TE, a first round pick speedster who had over a hundred, Deandre Hopkins and another former first round pick speedster who has been productive in the past.

Josh Allen has NEVER stepped on that field without a disadvantage at weapons, defense, and coaching.  NEVER. And he drags us nearly across the finish line every time.

you think Spags would leave his could sweet deal role?

If he wants to be a HC he would. Many coaches would love to come here and have #17 as their QB.

this fear is nonsensical.  Look at the Eagles.  Win a SB against peak Brady Pats, and fire that coach.  Bring in Nick S., now what, 2 SBs in 3 years.  They also fired Andy Reid, who is looking like McD here.  Sometimes both parties need a change.

I'll take that 'weakness' over the 'strength' we saw in the period between 1994 and when McD arrived.

Its not like we're even going backwards. It's clear we're growing every year.

Everyone thinks Harbaugh is great - well, he couldn't get past the divisional this year with an MVP quarterback, MVP-contender running back and quality across his whole roster on both sides of the ball. Everyone thinks Shanahan is great - well, he couldn't get to playoffs with one of the most complete rosters I've ever seen. Everyone thinks Dan Campbell is great - but he's bottled it in his successive playoffs running (albeit with  injuries).  There was a time after 13 seconds when Bills fans even had McDaniel envy - I mean COME ON.

McD is up there with the best coaches in the NFL. Obviously he is. He's just consistently being pipped by one of the best to ever coach the game. His old Jedi master. And there's not another coach in the NFL who is going to out coach Andy Reid. (though Barkley might have a field day in the SB).

Being a bounce of a ball away from the best is not a bad thing - the internet will blame the coach for the bounce specifically - but the real coaching story is being that close to begin with. To even be hostage to the marginals is a story of how far we've come.

I don't think the problem is with McD. In fact, I don't think there's a problem at all.

Defeat is just a part of the game. One that 31 teams have to experience every season.

Save your post in your files. It will save your from having to retype the same thing next year and every other year McDermott is here as HC. Unfortunately, we will continue to always be one of the 31, unless some tough decisions are made.

For becoming HC of the Bills with Allen at QB?  In a heartbeat.

I’m not so certain. Not all folks want the keys to the kingdom. He’s been a head coach before.

If the refs give us the 1st down after the tush mush, do we even have this discussion.

I am not saying the Bills didn't leave many plays on the field.  Kincaid's catch, the absurd short yardage calls, Josh's play at times, the lack of WR of secondary.

We will shake this off and reload and off we go.

I am fine if McD comes back or get fired.  I don't think that is the biggest issue to beat KC.

Speaking only about logistics.

1. Timing - there were coaches available for the past three weeks. Those prime candidates now have new jobs.

2. Joe Brady - If the agreement with a new coach is Brady is entrenched as the OC for at least one more year then you are likely hiring another Defensive coach, which many people believe is what has held Allen back.

3. Who is out there that can out coach a Reid Spags combo?

4. If smitten with Joe Brady are you going to promote him to Head Coach and leave him with the play calling duties from the sideline and have Lou Anarumo as the DC? If he wants to make staff changes there pickings will be slimmer at this point in the coach hiring cycle.

Valid points.  It's never good to be forced to make a decision, it's better to make one when the options are optimal.

aka Ben Johnson's taken now.

Should the fans be happy?

Not saying that and that's not the point.

The point is he's talking logistics and a lot of fans are talking about it like it's a possibility. It isn't. The idea won't even enter Pegula's head.

Joe Brady was not an insignificant part of the loss yesterday. Not sure how he's earned a promotion.

If you're going to move on from McDermott, I'd give it a clean sweep and get all the good ol' boys out of the clubhouse. Bring in Kellen Moore or similar and build a new staff around an elite QB and give it a shot with a new system.

He coached a pretty mediocre roster with a massive dead cap hit to the conference championship game.

If anything i think beane probably deserves more criticism all things considered.  I think they made necessary moves to accelerate a rebuild and move on from an old roster that didn't win - but that doesn't happen and you all of a sudden add more talent.

Could always dip into the college ranks. Josh DESERVES an offensive minded head coach.

Knowing the Bills luck we would have our own version of Urban Meyer and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Going for 2 at the end of the first half was one of the biggest bonehead moves in the McDernott era.

After that failed 2 point attempt, the Bills were chasing points the rest of the game.

This cost them dearly.

I lost my chit when they decided to go for two for f-n reason, rightly so.

i reviewed the game log of the game last night.  kc had 63 offensive plays, we had 68.  that's a very short condensed game.  we allowed some weak leak out runs early, but stuffed them really well for the rest of the game in runs.  mahomes had the highest epa of this season, and the highest success rate (which means how easy it is to get first downs) of his career.  we made the game as easy as possible for mahomes, our d is undermanned, and we sucked.

with that said, the offensive coaching decisions were much worse.  the tush push was failing but we kept to it.  we got into empty late WAY too much.  we had a couple great bombs to hollins (can you believe he's our best outside weapon?) and stole a couple first downs with passes to shakir, coop, and coleman.  the rest of our production, and the back bone of all of our td scoring drives, was james cook.

we averaged 4.6 yards on plays where cook didn't get the ball, and 8.5 on plays where he did.  that includes two short TD runs and a couple 3rd down short yardage conversions.  with the season on the line, cook doesn't get a touch, and he got 4 total carries in the first half, and 16 touches in the entire game.  on the tush push they ruled a no conversion (horrible spot) shakir was in the back field pushing allen.  no cook to be a run threat if they wanted to mix it up, and no big guy helping allen get an extra foot or two.  on the ill fated 4th and 5 call, it was empty and cook was off the field.

just like daboll and dorsey, brady just doesn't have a feel for the game.  he runs the same ish, the d knew what to do and dared us to stop it, and when they were overloading and blitzing late to sell out vs the run, we had nothing dialed up to put the ball over them.  they never stopped cook, really.  he might have broken a few more for big gainers, but im quite certain at the very least he would have converted some of those 3rd and shorts and was giving kc fits all day.  you don't have to play great d vs the bills.  you just have to wait for the bills to run a predictable empty, or a bunch formation they've run every game for two months, and you just know there are no wrinkles or counters to different pressures and you make allen play at difficulty level 100.

we are always outcoached and our roster is poorly constructed.

I’m kind more fed up with the GM at this point. He’s made some perplexing moves and seems to be off page with McD. Highlights being Boogie Basham over Creed Humphrey, and letting KC jump him for McDuffie while trading up for Elam in a panic. Also the Kincaid trade up seemed panicked whole LaPorta has turned out to be the top dog in that draft. Justin Shorter at pick 150 over Pula Nacua at pick 173 also seems horrible. Beane has had some bad drafts.

Their last first round and top picks Oliver, Rousseau, Elam, Kincaid, Coleman haven’t really made much impact and the big free agent signing Von was a disaster.  Beane definitely has struck out a few times with these decisions and he will be the first to tell you.  I agree he definitely has to be held accountable.

Ah you see, I'm not as fortunate as you. I am unable to predict the future with quite the same accuracy.

And, unless that decision is to hire Andy Reid, it's always going to be a big ask. Not sure there's a coach alive who would beat him immediately without a few seasons setttling in.

Still, overtime with no possession 3 points. 3 points. It doesn't seem insurmountable if the KC walrus starts to tire. Seems a safer bet to me - but, as I say, I am not gifted in the art of future telling.

Sirianni has a shot to join Shanahan in NFC coaches that can’t beat the chiefs too lol. Should be interesting to see what happens.

as long as people are using the same bar for analyzing other coaches I’m cool with what anybody has to say, but to me there’s no indication any of these NFC coaches would get by the chiefs either until I see it happen.  Plop the eagles in the afc and are they making superbowls? Idk..  that’s kind of the rub with firing a coach, to me the ceiling sure seems like its pretty darn close to what mcd is already doing in pretty much the best case scenario
