iccrewman112 Posted yesterday at 06:57 AM Posted yesterday at 06:57 AM Speaking only about logistics. 1. Timing - there were coaches available for the past three weeks. Those prime candidates now have new jobs. 2. Joe Brady - If the agreement with a new coach is Brady is entrenched as the OC for at least one more year then you are likely hiring another Defensive coach, which many people believe is what has held Allen back. 3. Who is out there that can out coach a Reid Spags combo? 4. If smitten with Joe Brady are you going to promote him to Head Coach and leave him with the play calling duties from the sideline and have Lou Anarumo as the DC? If he wants to make staff changes there pickings will be slimmer at this point in the coach hiring cycle. Quote

LABILLBACKER Posted yesterday at 07:15 AM Posted yesterday at 07:15 AM You can wave goodbye to ever landing Ben Johnson. And frankly I don't know if Terry really cares about a SB. He's content riding a fun regular season every year with Sean. Josh looked angry and pissed off at his post game presser. Something is going to give some day down the road. 3 1 1 3 1 2 1 Quote
MrEpsYtown Posted yesterday at 07:16 AM Posted yesterday at 07:16 AM (edited) To me the logistics are that he will never win a championship here. This is the best he can do. So what is the point of doing another year with him? 1- There are still guys out there, and aside from Vrabel, none of the other hires are particularly interesting imo. 2- Brady should be guaranteed nothing. A team will never make a new head coach keep an assistant. 3- BB is the real answer or maybe Gruden. But something I would do is like HC Kingsbury, OC Davis Webb, DC Patrick Graham, Special Teams Darren Rizzi. Graham’s Raiders defenses certainly give Mahomes issues and Kingsbury is an offensive mind who could unlock more in Josh imo. 4- I like Brady but this thing needs to get blown up imo. Thrivefourfive Posted yesterday at 07:18 AM Posted yesterday at 07:18 AM You have to do things! Can’t just sit there and run back McDermott every year when Reid is still there. TERRY, WE WANT IT ALL 3 1 Quote
DabillsDaBillsDaBills Posted yesterday at 07:19 AM Posted yesterday at 07:19 AM Why does it matter who we hire in his place? The '01 Bucs fired a pretty mediocre Tony Dungy and immediately won the SB with a pretty mediocre Jon Gruden. There's dozens of potential head coaches that would've won a SB with Josh Allen by now 5 1 1 1 Quote
Dr.Sack Posted yesterday at 07:47 AM Posted yesterday at 07:47 AM I’m kind more fed up with the GM at this point. He’s made some perplexing moves and seems to be off page with McD. Highlights being Boogie Basham over Creed Humphrey, and letting KC jump him for McDuffie while trading up for Elam in a panic. Also the Kincaid trade up seemed panicked whole LaPorta has turned out to be the top dog in that draft. Justin Shorter at pick 150 over Pula Nacua at pick 173 also seems horrible. Beane has had some bad drafts. 2 4 1 Quote
LABILLBACKER Posted yesterday at 07:51 AM Posted yesterday at 07:51 AM I'll tell you one thing...tonight's game definitely exposed some of Brandon's bad picks. We're just not getting enough pop from our 1st/2nd round picks. 2 3 1 Quote
Heavy Kevi Posted yesterday at 07:57 AM Posted yesterday at 07:57 AM I'm convinced the best move is to promote Brady to HC. Then you keep offense intact and he can bring in a new defensive staff. It's a way to keep the magic of the McDermott locker room (and not lose all the momentum/culture) for a year or two and see if Brady can take the next step with it. If not, then you can blow the whole thing up and hire whoever you want. With Josh Allen here, you just have to fire the coach in-season and you'll be the #1 destination for anyone they fancy. But I'm also convinced it won't be happening. McD has his excuse for this year (no talent except Josh) so he gets a pass. As a matter of fact it might actually strengthen his case with ownership "we were a few plays away from the SB with just Josh". 1 1 Quote

Double dipping the defensive line was an awful idea when we had questions about the line and Landon Dickerson and Creed were on the board. The Elam pick was wrong. No doubt about it. It hasn’t panned out and appears and absolute waste but at the time you can’t blame them. Tre White was coming off a serious injury and had he worked out that pick would have been perfect timing as we know what happened to Tre every year after: injured. Benford worked out so their double dipping on corner paid off somewhat. I liked Kyler Gordon more but got the pick at the time as he was decent in college and could give the Bills more man coverage flexibility. Quote

This past year I made a spreadsheet of all the WRs for the train. The Bills trade up they gotta hit on whoever they trade up for. Elam & Kincaid hurt coz they haven’t produced. Keon is gonna have to greatly improve or that’s another bust. 1 Quote

I don’t mean to belittle someone’s thoughts as they are valid and have a place even if there’s a disagreement on one side… WTF are you thinking? You want to remove the coach who’s been lambasted for coaching errors, decisions and no fee of the game for the guy that couldn’t figure out how to set the Chiefs up with a look and pull the rug in the biggest game? This guy literally ran Josh into a brick wall all game on short distances, even going to the extent of 4 times on one drive. He has no elite feel for the ebb and flow of the game. People say McD would be nothing without Josh, well that goes even more to Brady. What’s he done professionally to advocate a choice over other coaches out there? Not much. The LSU national where he had Joe Burrow, Jamar Chase, Justin Jefferson, Terrence Marshall, Clyde Edwards Helaire, Thad Moss & a quality OLine? If you’re going to jump on the dump McD train and grab an offense minded guy that has NFL experience and success, go for Kliff Kingsbury. 4 1 2 1 Quote
Buffalo Ballin Posted yesterday at 08:14 AM Posted yesterday at 08:14 AM Joe Brady proved, tonight, that he is not ready to be a HC anywhere in NFL. He has a long way to go. That's why I would never hire an OC, or DC, fresh off just ONE year from any NFL team for HC position. They didn't put in the years yet to prove anything. 3 1 Quote

BuffaloButt Posted yesterday at 08:45 AM Posted yesterday at 08:45 AM It's not happening! He's not going anywhere! They need to copy what these winning coaches do and implement them into their game plans in the future! Coach better! But, he's staying! 1 Quote
Rocky Landing Posted yesterday at 09:39 AM Posted yesterday at 09:39 AM At the beginning of the season, a majority of media analysts didn't believe the Bills would win the AFCE. There's a 170 page thread (and multiple others) on this site debating how bad the WR room was, with the departure of Diggs, Davis, and every other WR other than Shakir. We lost multiple defensive players, and started the season with the thinnest defense of the McDermott era. With limited draft picks, and over $60M in dead cap (half of that from Diggs alone), Beane had very few resources to field a competitive team. And yet they made it to the AFCCG, and one score away from the Super Bowl. Sean McDermott, and Brandon Beane's jobs are safe. 3 1 Quote
Buffalo_Stampede Posted yesterday at 09:49 AM Posted yesterday at 09:49 AM I feel so bad for us Bills fans. The fact so many fans want to fire the guy is sad. There isn’t another coach in the NFL that does better vs the Chiefs in the world, but we believe someone will be better. Josh Allen has only gone lights out 1 time vs KC. It’s not like we’re blowing historic performance after historic performance. And that 1 historic performance vs KC wasn’t even better than Mahomes that day. The right plan is to keep chopping at that wood. We are so close. 5 1 1 1 Quote
