I think alot of us are not happy about the coaching tonight but the bigger issue is we've been out drafted if we're going to beat a team with one of the best coaches and probably top 2 offensive coaches the game has ever seen we need to have a talent advantage.. we've spent copious amounts of draft pick on the defence specifically the line and our draft picks just have not performed to expectancy of where they were drafted.. that's on Brandon Beane and McDermott and it's the bigger transgression than the coaching blunders.

I’m not counting Gabe…..so since 2017 - here are the game changing offensive players we’ve drafted not including Josh:

Dawkins

Torrence

Spencer Brown

Cook

Shakir - EDIT

That’s the list.  EIGHT DRAFTS.  5 difference makers on O and 3 are lineman.

Jury still out:

Keon

Ray Davis

Besides Josh, our 1st & 2nd round picks have been for the most part underwhelming. I witnessed Worthy outplay Elam, Groot, Kincaid & Coleman combined. We saw Josh make due with less this season,  but when the HELL is McB going to hit on some early defensive picks?   Ever???

Beane is more to blame than McDermott but it doesn't matter nothing will change. Pegula would much rather lose for a 5th straight time to the chiefs than his distorted perception of what the alternative is.

The problem with blowing it up is do you trust this leadership group to upgrade on both Beane and McDermott who are paired. It can get alot worse it you make the wrong choice..like Eagles firing andy reid and hiring chip Kelly..

Beane is starting to look real bad. Where are the playmakers on this team?? I don’t see any other than Allen, Cook, Benford and Milano.

There are a lot of guys on the defense that are overrated and overvalued IMO.
On offense WR is still an issue.

Not counting Shakir makes your list seem a little bit biased.

We could have taken Kermit in 2017 ...

Mahomes I believe is the better QB but they need impact defensive players to beat KC. They keep getting players that are at best role players. They do their job most of the time but can’t beat the man in front of them when asked to.

Jury is still out on Torrence too. If he executes his block we might not be talking about Kincaid's drop. Torrence has been the worst starter on offense all year.

I think Groot did have a decent year, but he was ROUGH last night. The Mahomes TD run on the boot he didn't even seem to try and fight through Hunt's block. It was very un-Groot like but it was pathetic.

there is a bigger issue at hand. Beane drafts Cook and immediately says Cook is going to be a receiving option out of the backfield or used in the slot but McDermott doesnt trust (like) certain players/rookies so Cook is depth bench bound and 1 fumble means Cook is in the doghouse for 2 or 3 games.

or everything looks like Keon is a project red zone target at best. remember how they went on and on about his basketball background and how he was going to be used in jump ball situations with his ability to box out and high point the ball even though everything combine and film related was saying Keon cant beat man coverage and what do we have? a receiver that isnt aggressive attacking the ball in the air. look at the games and count the amount of times he waits for the ball to come to him allowing the defender to get a play on the ball where it could have been defensive pass interference but because he waits for it, good play by the defender breaking up that pass.

and remember, Josh wasnt the 1st qb. remember the Peterman experiment and the simple fact it was tried twice to say he was an upgrade over Tyrod Taylor and lets not pretend like Josh was a sure thing. Josh was a 50 - 50 player that had accuracy issues his rookie year that this staff was ok with. Josh took it upon his self to go rework his own mechanics in the off season.

and dont forget Jake Fromm. yeah he was only a 5th round pick BUT you got Josh Allen and at this stage he looks like he was a hit. Matt Milano and Wyatt Teller were also a 5th round pick just for comparison.

I just missed him.  Add him to the list.

He’s a nice weapon.  Definitely a top 50 WR in the league.

Frankly, while HOF coaches Spags and Reid brought the pain for sure, JA17 wasn't very good last night.

Let's spread the criticism around to all the appropriate parties.  Spags took the scramble away, and for whatever reason Josh simply wasn't his usual surgical self from the pocket last night.   And the big bad O Line got handled in crunch time.   They got worked by the higher talent, higher energy, HOF coached team last night.

And they still almost pulled it off at the end.   Go Bills.

here is the problem as I see it: Bean/McD target positions early on.  This year was WR.  They then pick the wrong guy for whatever reason, refusing to go "all-in" like they did for QB.  Example: trading up for Thomas would have been ideal.  Then, they "settled" for Coleman over McConkey or Worthy.  A similar issue happened when Greg R. was drafted.  They zeroed in on DL and took Greg R. and Boogie Basham.  Greg is a good player, but not a Rd. 1 guy.  Boogie is out of the league.  Meanwhile, Creed Humphry is polishing super bowl rings.  Also, Elam was targeted because we "needed" a CB.  Oops.

In later rounds Bean appears to go BPA, this works: Milano, Spencer Brown, Bernard, Shakir, Bendford, etc.  While arguably none of these guys are "elite" they are "very good."

My advice: trade up if you are targeting a position and get a blue-chip.  Or trade for an established player.

Great players taken with a Bills draft choice:

Mahomes

Jefferson

Worthy

They only count if you would have actually drafted them... 2 out of 3 we had a shot... Jefferson was no way to know he would be there when the trade went down.. but if he was we would have probably taken another mediocre DL that cant disrupt

I thought he was nervous at the start, even Romo said his play was likely due to nerves. Once he settled in he was money, unfortunately against a team like the Chiefs, he needed to come out guns blazing, surgical. He wasn’t at his best the whole game, but his play was good enough to win. We needed the defense and others around him to raise their level, but stop me if you’ve heard this before.

There can be a long back and forth debate about draft picks etc. What is inexcusable is given the state of both franchises entering last draft essentially handing the Chiefs Worthy. He was exactly what they needed and there really wasn't many other options. The Bills have used significant resources on players like Harty, Samuel, etc yet chose not only not draft Worthy but let the Chiefs draft him. Ironically he is tto small yet he is pulling the ball from our guys, continuing progress on tackles to get 1st downs while we are getting pushed backwards short of the sticks.
