If I remember correctly when the officials screwed the Saints the league admitted it was unacceptable and vowed to improve, but this time they are indicating that the problem is acceptable and they will continue this way. 1 Quote

When they vowed to improve, it was a flat-out lie. They wanted L.A. in the SB. The NFL has an obscene infatuation with the L.A. market. It's now clear to me that they're continuing to hand-pick teams. Quote

Well, its backfiring BIG TIME. Been listening to a lot of Mad Dog Sports on Sirius, with all the interviews and what not and this is a MAJOR talking point. Quote

The calls in Chiefs game would have favored Bills? MAYBE... Both championship games should be played at the same to kind put the brakes on these selected match ups? Quote

I had absolute football fatigue after the championship game. If the Chiefs win Mahomes or Brady will have been the winning QB in 7 of the last 10 Superbowls. In the last 20 Superbowls ten teams have been present 31 of 40 times. KC, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Seattle, LA, San Fran, New England, Denver, Indianapolis and the NYG have been present in 80% of the Super Bowls since 2005. For a league that prides itself on parity, there really aren't any Cinderella stories in the NFL anymore. Quote
Just Jack Posted February 8 Posted February 8 FYI, if you have a Roku, under Live Channels is ESPN 8, The Ocho. On Sunday evening, starting at 6pm, you can watch the Wisconsin Auctioneers Championship, then Jelle’s Marble Runs, followed by USA Mullet Championships and finish with the USA Climbing National Championship. SinceThe70s Posted February 10 Posted February 10 I didn't boycott but I also didn't think I'd enjoy this SB at all. I was wrong. 1 Quote

muppy Posted February 10 Posted February 10 my heart wanted to boycott. I decided to succumb to family desire to (as usual) make it a festive fun annual holiday type affair which we did and It was better than I could have imagined. except the halftime shows ending was it's highlight for me lol geez I did not drink. No stress . I was feeling bitter at the beginning "It should be us those rat *******s" but after the play commenced it was pure beauty. I enjoyed it. Glad I watched. POBRECITO chiiefs fans. they must feel like **** today. ha Ha HA Quote
Bill from NYC Posted February 11 Posted February 11 If it were not for the boxes, I wouldn't have cared much at all about the game. If the Chiefs went for one instead of two on their last TD, I would have made a large amount of money. The boxes make the Super Bowl fun imo. Not the trite commercials nor the horrid halftime shows. Augie Posted February 11 Posted February 11 What, EXACTLY, do the ratings measure? Is it just from kick off to the final whistle? How much of the advance garbage counts. I think more people than ever are waiting until kickoff. Five hours of hype is garbage with all the access we have to so much else that is available. Quote
Jrb1979 Posted February 11 Posted February 11 So much for the boycott. They set a new record with 137 million tuning in to the Super Bowl. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/super-bowl-lix-tv-ratings-record-feb-9-2025-1236132107/ 1 Quote

How did it set a record if there was a 5% drop in viewership? Quote
Back2Buff Posted February 11 Posted February 11 10 hours ago, Dr Krentist said: I'm confused. How did it set a record if there was a 5% drop in viewership? Because TV Ratings are lies. Seriously, major companies pay off Nielsen to be able to charge more for Ad revenue. You will never see the NFL lose viewership in a SB. They pay too much to have that headline. 1 Quote

Fleezoid Posted February 11 Posted February 11 A coworker asked me if I was boycotting the SB. I said no, but I'm not watching it. I didn't watch a second of it. Quote
ExiledInIllinois Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Who answers a phone AND actually tells the truth when surveyed?😆 Who actually answers a phone... Let alone have it NOT in silent mode. Quote
