It's more the lack of talent on our D. I believe McD and Babich have gotten a lot more than we had any right to expect out of a defense that just doesn't have a great amount of talent. Above-average players: Rousseau, Oliver, Benford (when healthy). We get pissed when we don't get Pro Bowl selections. You know why we don't? Because we don't have many stand-out players on D!

MCD is as much the GM as any other HC.  He hired the GM from Carolina where he was before.  He has huge influence on who get picked and signed and it's a flipping disaster.

 

He had two first year starting (Brady was replacement before) coordinators beneath him this season.  Literally nothing he's done shows he's gonna get over the hump.  He sucks at situational football and it shows.

I would be absolutely dumbfounded. I would donate all my possessions to charity and become a nudist. It's more likely that he wills team to McDermott after his death for him to coach for the rest of time than the chances that he fires him tomorrow.

It's the Defense.  Sean needs to get a better system and players who can actually implement said system.

I think the defensive side of the ball needs work.  We need someone who can heat up a quarterback.  And corner is an issue.   Probably need a 1T too.

Honestly this is the first time after a loss that I’m not calling for McDermott’s head.  Despite the numbers the Bills had two chances to win today and they didn’t.

 

There weren’t many times today I was happy with the offensive playcalling.

 

Refusing to have a backup option for the tush push.  The Coleman fade on 3rd down with the game on the line.  Not realizing Cook was suited up until the second half.  On the final offensive play of the game you need 5 yards and your best WR is in the backfield.  Not trying to calm Josh down in the 1st by relying on what got you there.  Running for 5-9 yards a clip with conventional running plays and then losing all sense of confidence in that same running game on 3rd and 4th and 1.

 

McDermott didn’t do that.  McDermott got us here with a talent deficit in our last 2 games.

Well, they've spent enough resources on that D.  And we know, based upon the hiring relationship between HC and GM, that the former is involved in deciding the roster.  Either way, it doesn't explain why our D sihts the bed in the playoffs, and why, for example, we allowed KC to have a better offensive game than the 32nd ranked 5-12 Carolina Panthers.  Our talent isn't that bad.

I believe in Beane, Sean can certainly coach up players.  We need a better defensive scheme and better players.  Period.

I hear ya, but not going to spend tonight playing the blame game.  Either way, it's not up to either of us.  We'll see how it plays out over the off season.

Allen isn't as good as Mahomes.  That's what this comes down too.   Mahomes is a stone cold killer who knows where to go in every instance and makes quick decisions.  Josh drops back waits and then plays sandlot football.  He is immensely gifted but he's not a champion.
