THREE YEARS?

Josh Allen is gonna be 29 next year. That would put him at 32 years old, with a new HC, trying to make his first Super Bowl.

For the record, Drew Brees made one SB, at 30. And that was it for him.

It really depends how things are going. If the defense is a mess next year then you might consider promoting Brady and letting him hire the best defensive coordinator available.

It really comes down to how things go. Brandon Beane even said it, we aren’t getting blown out in the playoffs. I do believe if the Bengals playoff game happened again that they would consider firing McDermott.

Bills will never win the big game with McDermott. He will have a winning record every year, go to the playoffs and win one playoff game. After that we are out. This is the year he lost me. NO confidence in him winning at the top level no matter what players they bring in. His scheme sucks 👎 ☹️.  Allen makes him look great but he has reached his limit here. Will enjoy future seasons but again NO expectations after the wild card round. Sad but true!!!

So 2 more 3 point losses to KC in the playoffs and we are gonna still gonna do McD’s last ride in 2027?

Shoot me now lol

Talk about talent and they traded away Reddick, who had how many sacks for them.    Like a double AJ Epenesa.   And were trying to pretend Smoot or Toohill would be additions...lol.

In 2022 - that’s the draft (and AJ Brown trade) that got them 2 SB Trips:

Philadelphia Eagles 2022 Draft Picks

First Round – No. 13 overall (DT Jordan Davis) (*Acquired from the Houston Texans)

Second Round – No. 51 overall (C Cam Jurgens)

Third Round – No. 83 overall (LB Nakobe Dean)

Sixth Round – No. 181 overall (LB Kyron Johnson) (*Acquired from the Detroit Lions)

Sixth Round – No. 198 overall (TE Grant Calcaterra) (*Acquired from the Jacksonville Jaguars)

Philadelphia Eagles 2022 NFL Draft Weekend Trades

1. Eagles traded picks No. 15, 124, 162, and 166 to the Texans for pick No. 13. With that pick, the Eagles selected DT Jordan Davis.

2. Eagles traded picks No. 18 and 101 to the Titans for WR A.J. Brown.

3. Eagles traded pick No. 154 to the Jaguars for picks No. 188 and 198 (TE Grant Calcaterra) overall.

4. Eagles traded picks No. 188 and 237 to the Lions for pick No. 181. With that pick, the Eagles selected LB Kyron Johnson.

They traded a first for AJ Brown and still were able to draft Jordan Davis.

What are we giving this guy 11 years of Josh Allen to try and get there. It’s ridiculous. How many chances does a guy really deserve? Josh isn’t going to be this guy forever. Stop

wasting it. I’m out of time with McDermott, all year I said get there this year or fire him. Every single year we don’t get there is 1 to many. I have zero rope left

I don’t consider what the Bills are doing a waste or a failure.

They’re having successful season year after year.

There are other options. Head coach is firstly the boss, CEO of the team. Next he can be the coordinator of the offense or defense. To me McDermott runs a good team. I like how the Bills operate on and off the field. There’s some clock management issues, challenge issues, but he’s consistently one of the more aggressive thinking head coaches in the league.

If the Bills have a similar end next year the clear option is to go after the best defensive coordinator available.

Here’s where I’m at with McDermott. Obviously we can’t go on for Allen’s entire career being 2nd or 3rd in the AFC.

McDermott deserves a chance to rebuild his defense. For me he’s got 3 years to make it further than he’s gone so far. If he misses the playoffs I think I would move on.

I think you are missing the whole point. He’s not going to miss the playoffs with Allen, but he will NEVER beat KC and Cincy and Balt is 50/50. It will be just good but never great with him now. His defense in big spots is just not there. Just look at the playoff defense stats. He built up a good team but he has reached his ceiling. Sad but True!!!

As Beane said, give me Josh Allen with the ball to win the game in the playoffs every year.

What are your thoughts if the same thing happens the next 2 years? That would be 4 years Allen has the ball last to take the lead.

Like I said we have to see how it goes. If McDermotts defense blows it on the final drive we blame him. I think if Allen puts the Bills up and the defense blows the game again like 2021 they would consider firing McDermott.

I'm glad you're not running the team. Though I fear he just might get this time. Clearly, he shouldn't.

If Josh’s #1 option with the ball to win the game is Mack Hollins, I will say exactly what I said the last few years.

Give this man some help.

I think this may be McD or a relative of his. 3 more years to rebuild!!

That is their plan.  I am sure internally Buffalo was realistic about where their roster was, which is why Beane publicly called it a reset year.  He was tempering expectations compared to the past few years.

Despite the reset, they finished better than the years where the team was a preseason contender.  As a result, most of the positions are locked up and a good portion of the roster will return.

Beane and McDermott know that this is kind of their second window.  I expect them to try to add some talent over the next two offseasons.

So their future depends on what happens after

Maybe the name in the title should change then.

I also disagree with firing Beane for at least 3 years, but when McDermott goes Beane goes.

Help can come in many ways.

If you wanna play ball control-style with Josh, you better be able to win going away if the offense scores 27+.

What we can’t do, imo, is expect Josh to throw to a gaggle of third and fourth options AND need 30+ to win playoff games.

It’s a recipe for….losing too early in the playoffs every year.

Like we have.

Either give Josh the help around to be a light show when they need to be or perform so Josh doesn’t need to be in a light show for 4 Q’s. Ideally, do both, but we have to pick one.

I believe, in my heart, if the Bills had BTJ, we would have been playing in the Super Bowl tonight.

I believe, in my heart, if Belichick was designing our defensive gameplan in the AFCCG, we would have been playing in the Super Bowl tonight.

This hybrid system of “Josh cobbles together a good offense out of wet newspaper and the defense forces 2 punts through 2 playoff games,” is what I cannot abide. Honestly.

They have to be better on defense. Even when the defense was regular season good they weren’t playoff good.

They just have to be better, especially in the big moments.
