Kelly to Allen Posted January 29 Posted January 29 6 hours ago, T.E. said: This is a huge issue. He's got Allen way too worried about turnovers and now JA is playing tenetively. The team always starts flat. They are never aggressive and never proactive about anything. We react to what the other team is doing; we'd rather play to avoid their strengths rather that play to accentuate ours, etc. This is all McDermott. It's maddening to watch. The guy can't even give a locker room speech after a big win without being as uninspiring and milquetoast as humanly possible. If Allen ran the no huddle spread he would literally have 5000 + passing yards and 50 + passing touchdowns. It really is bonkers lol. 6 hours ago, T.E. said: This is a huge issue. Jimmy Harris 69 Posted January 29 Posted January 29 It won’t happen. This team was picked to go 10-7. Finish 3rd in the division by many reasonable prognosticators. They went to the championship game with a middling defense on the basis of Josh Allen’s historic 96% positive play performance. Terry “white shoes” Pegula already has a hockey team that is trash, playing in a an old arena with no hope of getting better. He will not fire the guy who coached his football team to the championship game twice in five years. Only Josh Allen could force a change. 1 Quote

TheyCallMeAndy Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Maybe I’m late to the party, but I’m starting to think this team’s failures don’t lie at the feet of McD, but solely at the scouting department. Both Pro and College scouts, we have more misses than hits. Philly just won the SB because they draft extremely well, develop rookies fast, get value from FA pickups and they’re well coached. 4 Quote

I think its on both Beane and McD....talent isnt quite there on D, and what is there, isnt being coached up. Josh would cry for that D. Quote
Mikie2times Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Like I said in another thread. It’s weird to condemn both McD and the roster at the same time as a team as close as we were. Logically, both can’t suck. I used to focus more on McD’s shortcoming, but this defense is just lacking difference makers. Then we just keep running it back with the B squad extensions. Locking out the potential for actual difference makers. Yes, it’s a problem. It’s not a problem if we want to be a good team. It’s a problem if we want to be a great team. Quote

Patricia Allen's name won't be on that wing if Josh bolted us .. guarantee that He has a legacy in Western New York he has to worry about because he's one of us now.. Big Blitz Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Dean Carter Mitchell DeJean Davis How did the Eagles get in position to draft these guys? We have nothing like them - Benford is the only blue chip on D. Quote
WhitewalkerInPhilly Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Just for a little bit of perspective here as someone in the Philly sports media zone: you would not believe the calls for firings. Howie Roseman was run out of his office and people wouldn't shut up about how how whiffed on defensive late round picks. He has now assembled two SB winning rosters After the Eagles fell apart down the stretch last year fans were out for blood and wanted to fire the entire coaching staff one year after getting to the SB. Instead they hired Kellen Moore (now the Saints HC) and Fangio. Just some perspective considering the things I've heard about McDermott and Beane. 1 Quote

They take highly ranked talented players that fall in the draft. Edited February 10 by Buffalo_Stampede Quote
KeLLy1278 Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Yes. The ceiling with McDermott is well established. We may as well get our excuses ready for 2025 because it will result in yet another in a long string of playoff losses.. and it won’t even be in the Super Bowl. Sean needs to go. His coaching in the AFC Championship game was abysmal. Thanks but no thanks. 1 1 Quote
