You can fire McDermott, but you still have to beat Reid, Mahomes, and the refs with the Bills defensive personnel. Please tell me another head coach who has this magic power.

It's been determined that McDerrmott cannot do it. So why hold on to that? Move on. A new voice and fresh ideas could go a long way.

There is unknown in looking for a replacement. That is a chance you have to take.

There is one fact that isn't debatable, McDermott can not beat the Chiefs in the playoffs.

Who are you going to get to replace McD?

I may be in the minority, but I've seen some growth in McD this year.  He was more aggressive overall during the season and he was much more flexible in how the Bills played defense.  They blitzed more, played more 3 LBs and more man coverage.

I look back at the game yesterday and honestly don't disagree with McD on the 2 pt conversation plays.  My biggest coaching issue from the game was Brady's inept play calling at points and his unwillingness to try different things on the short yardage plays.  Cook is dominating the game yet somehow he only got 16 touches.  That's on Brady and Josh.

Overall, McDermott is responsible for everything that happens on the field. He has created this risk-averse, scared-to-make-mistakes culture that reacts rather than dictates. He has every right to tell his OC what he wants. McDermott okays everything that happens on that field. Brady and Allen aren't just doing their own thing. It's more than just what happens on the field that very day. The team was outcoached and outclassed again. The team looked jittery, nervous and unprepared. That is all on my McDermott.

To me, who replaces him isn't the issue. The issue is that he sucks and he will never win a Super Bowl. So turn the page and find someone else and see what happens.

The fact that Bills fans are afraid to replace this milquetoast loser because we sucked for 17 years is crazy to me. He's no good. He isn't the one. Move on. This is coaching purgatory. We need a new voice and a new approach.

He should have been fired after 13 seconds.

He let Josh get overhyped again in the big game

He let Brady keep calling the same play that wasn't working. Somehow Cooper again did not get on the field enough.

His defense made two plays all game.

The question is why keep him????

He brings nothing.

Problem is Ben Johnson is already hired. I guess you could go after Spags. Harbaugh and Belichick are taken.

It's just so sad we are stuck with this loser for another year.

13 Seconds was Frazier, McD can't help Josh got over hyped, He should have not allowed the tush push after the second time for sure, & Brady definitely should have used Cooper more in the offense but McD trusts his coaches to do their job which sometimes to much trust can bight you .

But as in the past i know beyond a shadow of a doubt McD will spend countless hours going over all the flaws from this entire year and be better for it .

GO BILLS !!!

Correct.  We don't have a single true difference maker on our entire defense.  Milano and Bernard are nice players, good complementary pieces in a good defense.  Same goes for Taron, Ed and Groot.  Nice players that generally do their jobs, but they don't change games.  And they were exposed by having poorer pieces around them.  Put that defense against the minds of Reid and Mahomes and you're just left praying for unforced turnovers/errors to get you through the game.

Beane has done well with finding talent in UDFA and mid/later rounds to build a solid roster, but he's mostly failed (outside of Josh) to bring in top-level, elite talent early in the draft (Cook was a great find at pick 60 - not a high pick).  I feel like he should take more heat for our failings against KC.

So far, the board members who said Sean should have been fired after 13 seconds have been proven right. And will remain that way until he wins a Super Bowl.

LOL. Just stop. Sean took over the defense and confused the kickoff call. It's all on him.

The script on the first drive was terrible.  I think they tried to surprise the Chiefs by going against tendencies and throwing the ball and it screwed up the o-line and Josh's rhythm.  Also, we just don't have the receiving talent to be a pass first type of team at this point.  I mean, Mack freaking Hollins is our best outside WR?  How does that happen?  Sort of amazing the offense was able to consistently put up 30+ points given the lack of speed/talent on the outside.

And yes, Cook should have touched the ball 25 times yesterday.  He's our most explosive player, get the ball in his hands.  I was screaming at the TV when they trotted out there at 3:33 without him in the huddle. Coaching malpractice on Brady's part in that situation.

0% chance he gets fired this year or next, but if he can't get the job done next year I think his seat will start to get warm.

Let's wait until he's 0-6 vs. the Chiefs before his seat gets warm .

No. You fire McDermott and see what the next guy brings. Stick with the program (the process? haha) even when it gets frustrating.

I say trade Josh and get draft capital to rebuild the team. He has shown time and again that the "big game" is just too big of a stage for him.

If we are going to propose change for the sake of change, firing you head coach gets you nothing, but trading your starting QB at least gets you a return on your investment.

Just sayin' 😏

One thing that really bothered me was our offensive game plan seemed to be hyper focused on getting into short yardage situations, and then getting just enough yardage to convert those into 1st downs. We didn't try to push the envelope at all and it burned us at the end. It's too hard to make a living on nonstop 3rd/4th downs against an extremely well coached and talented defense. Yet getting to those downs was seemingly our goal throughout the entire game. Meanwhile KC was moving the ball at will through the air with no fear. The respective game plans had us on our heels the entire game and when we had a chance to really take control of the game in the 2nd half we blew it with the same conservative play calling.

At some point younrealize that this team has gone as far as it can go under McDermott.  We'll see this movie again next year. Failing in big moments is part of his legacy. 13 seconds and yesterday should have been Ws.

My least favorite thing is when people say who are you going to replace him with….you serious? You really think the best guy in the entire world to class h this team is McDermott? First off, That’s not why you keep a guy. Second off I can come up with 5 guys immediately I’d rather try. We can act that way and just keep hoping it gets better. This is the best we are going to be. We can be afraid of what’s next or we can just keep knowing it’s not good enough. I’d rather take a shot on a guy that we know might get it done. This guy won’t

What really surprised me was how unprepared we were to deal with KC's passing down pressure from everywhere. The common "wisdom" was that all-out pressure on Josh would just allow Josh to make big plays with his legs or escaping pressure and making big plays down field. Instead it disrupted the passing game, and KC's secondary was able to cover our receivers one-on-one. The big Hollins catch? No separation, just Hollins making a play on a ball Allen put in a perfect spot. What I have to conclude is that other than Shakir as a slot guy, our receivers still kind of suck, and Spags knew it and took advantage of it.

Football teams are typically an image of their coach. People act like I’m crazy when I say this, but McDermott looks nervous in the playoffs on the sideline. He’s not a calming influence, and I think it rubs off on players. We make fun of Mike McDaniels’ halftime interviews, but McD looked and sounded like a nervous mess during the halftime interview. As far as fear of the drought era, these fans are acting like someone in a bum marriage. You don’t stay in it because “you can’t do better”.

I proposed in another thread that Brady could be elevated to HC . We get an in-house person who is offensive minded, knows Allen and the rest of the organization. He was considered HC material so why not do it ourselves?

I would not have a problem with that change.
