Yeah, they got entirely too reliant on it over the course of the year and never really developed anything to complement it.

Asking Josh to move laterally before he drives is not a viable variation.

At the risk of disparaging the fairer sex, even my wife was questioning why they kept going back to the same play. It just wasn't the automatic play that it was in the regular season. And when they mixed it up and Josh went over the top it was nearly a fumble.

Simple.  Don't put yourself in a position to be vulnerable to a call / spot or two.  Shouldn't matter.  This team is not good enough and not well coached enough to win against KC if KC brings their A game.

Easy example is we were almost unstoppable this year on the QB sneak and KC basically kicked our butts.  Inexcusable from an execution and imagination standpoint IMO.

How many straight QB sneaks were there on fourth down in short yardage situations? This coaching staff is in way over their heads and should be let go of their duties. Time to look for a replacement staff that has the creativity this team needs. This team was out-coached badly today. I’m not sure how a knowledgeable football fan can disagree.

Allen is 0-4 vs Mahomes in the playoffs now? He is probably least to blame for that awful record. The FO needs to call a conference and make the tough decisions.

I think it would make us a stronger, wiser and more respected fanbase if we recognized our shortcomings regarding crying about officiating.

And if it takes somebody occasionally being a pest about it, I'll fill that role.

I'm not going to crusade about it but I will toss the occasional firecracker in hopes it forces people to stop and think about it.

Thats fair and makes sense. I know for one I should not be writing on this board for a few days or so after lol. I think I'm just one of those "dig my hole deeper guys".

Come on people! The Bills got the ball with over 3 minutes left and all three timeouts. Josh simply didn’t get it done. To date it defines his legacy.

Who’s to say some BS wouldn’t be called when they started driving downfield, but i get your point.

Just funny how Buffalo has beat KC 4 times in the regular season and this ticky tack crap doesn’t come into play then when the game really doesn’t mean much in the grand scheme.

I had no problem with that one, even though it ended up squirrelly.

Letting him plant and go right off the snap is a far superior option than asking him to move laterally first, imo.

They were not as bad as last year I dont know about held their own.....the Chiefs never scored mroe than 30 all year. Today they did....and they let them run it out at the end

If this isn't the best explanation for the effect of officiating, I don't know what is.

The refs has nothing to do with the outcome today. We had every opportunity to win, and predictably choked.

Well actually no .. No catch by Worthy and first down by Josh and Bills don’t play well

at all

The refs bungling the spot was the KEY play of the game

Getting that stop swung the momentum completely in the other direction. Just like the Mark Andrews fumble or the Austin Ekeler fumble against the Eagles. Stuff like that deflates the entire team. Getting a stop, driving into Chiefs territory, and giving it right back. It must’ve felt soul crushing for the players.

The officiating in the NFL is awful.

The Bills got out coached tonight.

Both can be true simultaneously.

The Bills had a game tonight where they obviously needed to be better than the opponent and in all likelihood the officials as well.

They failed. On both.

They lost more due to being outcoached but the officiating didn't help either.

I don't disagree, but where I was going was maybe they could have a short yardage play that isn't always "Josh go get it".

I was honestly impressed the Bills D got a FG stop later on.

Tell ya what though, you can bag on the Bills D all you want, but they gave the offense the ball with the chance to take th eleade because they held the chiefs to 2 scoring drives in the 2nd half, one of which was off that bull#### 4th down stop

Oh, I 100% agree.

Repeatedly leaving James Cook on the sideline in those situations is an awful mistake, imo.

We're not likely to have him for long and I wish they'd be more willing to lean on him in specific situations, particularly in the postseason.

He’s right. You can’t always blame the refs when the team comes up short time and time again.

Yeah, but one of those things is part of football. The other is just cheating.

That's the first time the Chiefs have scored over 30 all season.

They do what’s necessary to win. That’s why I was more nervous about this game than the Baltimore game. Lamar and Mahomes are such different quarterbacks. Couldn’t understand why so many fans on here predicted an easy win in the pregame thread all week.

Huh? It's a "game of inches"... Teams will always be in those spots from time to time.

Just amazing, throughput football history you've seen chain gang come on field multiple times a game.  Nowadays, you don't see them.  Are the players that much better they make 1st Downs so easy to detect in today's game?😆 ...Yeah, right.

Last time I saw the Sticks was at the Miami game last year.  Wow! Players are so much better today!
