For years I denied the conspiracy theories.  After Sunday, I no longer deny.  I will not watch the Chiefs Bowl and plan to only watch Bills games in the future.  The NFL is greed over product.  I am done until it changes.

That’s it. Give in to that feeling. Why demand your team and its players to do better when you can just blame it on conspiracies. Why think the team and its players are not good enough. No. That’s too hard to do and too painful to bear. It’s much easier to think the system is rigged. Feels better to think this way too.

Again - if you truly believe the league is fixed, don’t bet on games.  It’s stupid of you, and losing gambling revenue is the only way the league will get serious about fixing officiating.

Gambling you say,  the game in which the house is guaranteed to win the vast majority of the time, the house being the NFL, there is no way such an organization would parlay such a concept into the games themselves…,

Why can’t we just have a fair Fing game? NFL is trash. I hate when people say it’s the officials being inept or human error. It’s blatant favoritism. Hence the Chiefs getting practically nothing but pre-snap penalties. I would love to see the data not just on the amount of flags, but WHEN they were thrown. I want to see this data for every Bills/Chiefs postseason matchup since 2020. How do you beat a team 4 times in the regular season, but can’t even get one win in the playoffs? Because ultimately KC is going to make the playoffs regardless of a regular season W so I think the refs just let them play. Remember that beast mode TD run by Josh to put the game away? That’s the type of ***** that would get a holding flag in the playoffs.

Also, winning SEVENTEEN consecutive one score games is fishy in itself. I know that Mahomes is good, but it’s the freaking NFL. That’s sketchy af

If you watch the Chiefs especially in the playoffs - I noticed this when NFLN replayed the last 2 Eagles - Chiefs games…

The Chiefs ****h to the refs CONSTANTLY.

Mahomes.  Their lineman.  Their DBs.  Always after many plays are in the ear of an official.

If you don’t think it’s beyond the NFL to make sure at least 1 or 2 game impacting calls aren’t made to benefit its chosen golden boys - maybe the possibility all the whining they do has paid off.

You complain to officials the right way, you’ll start getting calls and they’ll think twice throwing a flag on you if they know they made a bad call or no call the other way.

I think both things are true.  The Chiefs are an elite team.  And the refs absolutely pamper them.  Whether you believe it’s bc of the league and it’s rigged or if it’s just bc consciously or subconsciously they believe there is no way such “elite” players are committing fouls against your “inferior” talent.

There was a pass to Smith in the SB that was of course ultimately ruled incomplete on a deep sideline catch at the end of the first half.  Sneed was absolutely MAULING Smith and pinning his arm down as Smith pulled off a ridiculous catch.

Elam would have 7 flags thrown at him.

Don't forget Kelce constantly instigating **** and the other team ends up getting the flag cuz they retaliate. He knows what he is doing. Smart, but damn he annoys me and too bad the refs can't see he's the one starting it all.

Nothing is "rigged."  You can't keep that kind of secret.

But champs & great players tend to just get more calls. I think it's more psychological w/ refs, in every sport.  In the NBA, Lebron & top players throughout the years have gotten more favorable treatment.  Allen, I believe, gets some of that.  Just not as much as Mahomes or KC.

I can't complain about it.  "You have to knock the champ out" - you can't leave it to the judges.

I don’t think the games are rigged-  I think that the officiating could be fixed by adding 10-20M to their books with technology and payroll. They have decided not to do it for 15 years.  The technology is there.  Buy it.  Use it.

the national narrative is that the league has serious officiating problems.  Much worse than any other sport.  They could attempt to change that.  But they don’t. Why?

My opinion is that they want to have the human element as it has been since the game’s invention. Much like strike zones in baseball. The players have to feel out how the officials will be calling that particular day and adjust accordingly. And yes I do think superstars get calls, including Allen.

It’s not rigged I agree. But favor is definitley a thing.

I saw a few mention the Bill Burr on Rich Eisen comment… “Not fixed but massaged”.
I agree with that.

Goodell doesn’t have to address anything. Why are assuming that mistake would hurt all bettors? There were millions of dollars bet on KC side. I’m sure they’re fine with it.

If the reverse happened and Buffalo won there would be outcry going the other way. And, again, the people betting on Buffalo would be ecstatic with that outcome.

The gambling angle is irrelevant because there are actions on both sides in every game. That’s what people always fail to realized when they bring up gambling as a factor.

The gambling angle is one of reasons why the  referees would be so obviously incompetent. I don’t think they’re being compromised by betting interests but the system for ball placement promotes inaccuracy and the fact that they rarely change the call on the field diminishes the ability to change it with replays. It’s amateurish to ask elderly men stationed 20 yards from the ball to accurately place the ball which is camouflaged by 6 or 8 football players. It’s the easiest way to determine the outcome of a game.

After feeling out the Officials in the AFCCG- how could our players have adjusted?  They should’ve known that they needed 11+ yards to get a first down because the officials did it to them all game.

the human element is ruining their game in many peoples eyes

Fitz the Harvard grad has the best idea I've heard so far.  This is brilliant.

Sounds like an obvious solution. The problem is the NFL will not admit to a placement being wrong because that would mean they are determining the outcome of a game with a flawed process. Then people will start thinking that a home crowd could influence this arbitrary system of placing the ball. Also why are two referees running into the play on different yard lines and one is deferring to the other. As we all know once a call is made it’s usually not changed.

When you’re using a scrum to get you inches for a first down you better make sure to get at least a yard so it leaves no doubt in the officials’ hands. Like how Philly does it. When it’s right on the like that or even a few inches over you’re just asking for trouble.

I agree. The human element is a big factor in determining the games. My point was no matter how it shakes out one side of bettors will benefit and the other will cry foul.

The NFL has been living with officiating controversies since I've been watching the game. As far as I know it's never impacted the popularity of the sport. The controversies bring more attention to the sport and I think the NFL's attitude towards this is there's no such thing as bad publicity.  The NFL won't address the issues until it affects the bottom line.

McDermott said he told his team before the game to not expect to get any calls. Then in a high-leverage 4th-and-1 situation in the 4th quarter, he called a predictable QB sneak which had been defended well by the Chiefs all day. The play resulted in a trivial gain that led to a judgment call by the very refs he said would not give his team any calls. Then the refs did not give him the call he desired. Afterward, he stated that he disagreed with the refs' call. If he truly thought the refs would not give his team any calls, then I question why he would possibly call a play that is the definition of a human pile-up.

The house sets the odds for themselves.  If you think the game is rigged you’re saying you don’t believe the odds are accurate.

Define elderly.

Walt Coleman etc retired a long time ago.

The average age of an NFL official is 51.

I don't see "elderly" officials.  Maybe you could name 1?

Would young inexperienced officials be better?

51 is elderly.
