The spots sucked. I hated it.  But all we've asked for is for Buffalo/Allen to have the ball in the final couple minutes to win the game.  It all came to fruition...and we still could not get it done.  Didn't even come close.  That was incredibly disappointing.

After waking up and digesting that mess. Not only on the Allen 4th down run but Kincaid had the 1st on 3rd down. Me and my buddy were looking at each other all night like did they really spot it like that. Even on 1st amd second downs that were close to 1sts. Idk a small complaint compared to being out coached.

How about copper going past 3 yards on a play they mark it short. The kincaide one was horrible. The Allen one was disgusting. There were several during series we were spotted a yard or a few feet too. Time for a chipped ball and grid system

Does it matter? The refs weren't going to let the bills drive and score anyways.

Did you notice the "flag" displayed on the TV on the final play to Kincaid? The NFL threw a flag just in case Kincaid caught it.  They were never letting us win.

Stop watching.  Its not worth your time.

Every single spot for us was short.  I’m not a conspiracy guy but it really causes you to wonder.  The one where the ref facing Josd had us get the first down but is overruled by the other guy with no vision of the ball was absurd.

Why should the Bills have to play twice as good?  That's absurd!

Of course it's completely absurd, but NFL officiating is absurd and its never going to change. So there you have it. Accept reality and be better.

id love to hear the mechanism on this one other than I guess the team in the booth actually calling it?

I surprisingly can't find anywhere the shot from the skycam on the 4th down that they flashed for a millisecond after commercial break - it showed conclusively that the ball was over.  Surprised there isn't more discussion about that on the web.

The other crazy thing about the two refs spotting different spots is the ref on the top that gave a clear first down is the one Josh was facing and who saw the ball, Josh's back was turned to the one who came from the bottom and did the short spot (which they inexplicably chose), so he couldn't have even seen where the ball was!

The people trying to say McD should have challenged are barking up a tree as far as I'm concerned - there was ZERO chance they were going to give the first after eye in the sky took a look and did not overturn - I mean just look at all the gymnastics they did on the field to not give the first. (I read on one reddit thread that NFL can't access or use the skycam shot?  Not sure if that is true - if so that is stupid too)

I definitely have not seen a game where there were so many egregiously bad spots, and with so many never shown on replay, and all against the same team.  It was truly bizarre.

The NFL needs to figure out how to use technology to determine where the ball is.  There already is a chip in the ball, from what I've read they don't use it for spotting the ball bc it is only accurate to 6 inches.  Then invest some of the BILLIONS of dollars in annual revenue to make it more accurate.  I've seen people say that alone won't tell you if a knee is down etc - then you sync the ball location and time to replay to see where the ball was at the precise time knee was down.  The technology is there, just perfect it.

As has been pointed out - it is a "game of inches" - and nothing is more susceptible to ref "influence" or incompetence than the stupid situation now where a ref is across the field to see where the ball is then runs 60 ft across the field and meandering who knows how much along the way.  "wE cAn PuT a MaN oN tHe MoOn BuT tHe NfL cAn'T sPoT tHe BaLl PrOpErLy????!!!!"

If the NFL wants to curtail some of the fan outrage over games being 'fixed' or determined by incompetent refs the need to 1) Allow eye in the sky for all plays.  To me this one is simple - the criteria is "if millions on the couch immediately see the call is clearly wrong, then fix it"  It doesn't matter what type of call/play, if it is obvious - and any idiot watching on a TV can see it's obvious - then fix it.  Just use common sense   2) Perfect and install technology to spot the ball precisely and accurately

I noticed this as well.  On at least three occasions, Nantz called a first down and then had to take it back as the refs marked the ball short of the marker.  In future playoff games against the Chiefs, the Bills should assume that they need to gain at least eleven yards for a first down to account for referee slippage.

I just want a fair game, win or lose.

We didn’t get a fair game.

The NFL is making Patrick Mahomes a mega star ($$$) just like WWF made Hulk Hogan. He’s the new Tom Brady.

We could have played better, but we overcame a lot. It finally felt like the football gods were on our side and Josh was transcending.

But the league is only about money only and there is more money to be made influencing outcomes, creating stories, and manufacturing superstar Mahomes.

As a fan I feel in a tough spot: I love the Bills but this isn’t real anymore. It’s like investing your heart in the outcome of a scripted TV drama. Feels stupid. Bummer.

Those that disagree: flame away. It’s about what actually happened before our very eyes, not some “character flaw” you think you see in our fanbase. If you disagree about what happened on the field, okay. Disregard my words and move on.

(PS Yes, Mahomes is incredible. He’s amazing. But Josh is right there, stopped only by BS)

There have been several games in the 2nd half of the season where the spots are getting marked backwards.  It's a weird thing.  It's not just in Bills games either.  Watch the Super Bowl closely, you'll see it.

The Bills made some crucial mistakes. The offensive line which was a strength all season got dominated a ton last night. The defense stepped up in the 2nd half but they were cut through like butter in the first half. Despite all of that, if one or two calls go the correct way, we are talking about the Super Bowl this morning.

Is it rigged? I don't know. It feels so stupid to say it is. Logically you should just be able to say the refs aren't good. But when the "refs aren't good" ALWAYS favors one team.....Man that's a tough one.

For all the talk about using replay to help the officials going forward. They had replay twice last night and still got it wrong.

Only for the Eagles, though.

The Allen tush push spot was only one i had a major issue with.  How do you run across the field so confidently and over rule the other side judge when allen had his back to you and you had no idea where the football was?  Can somebody interview that side judge?
