You can't sue an entertainment league for "massaging" their own games. This isn't fixing...it's revenue management. I don't like that he says Mahomes basically has no equal. Whatever though 1 Quote

Whatever though It's not that controversial of a statement? Super Bowl appearances (among active starting QBs): Mahomes 5 Hurts 2 Wilson 2 Stafford 1 Rodgers 1 Burrow 1 Goff 1 Super Bowl wins: Mahomes 3 (soon 4?) Wilson 1 Stafford 1 Rodgers 1 1 Quote
LABILLBACKER Posted Tuesday at 03:34 AM Posted Tuesday at 03:34 AM I used to think the league was interested in recreating a Brady v Manning rivalry. But that narrative I think is dead and buried. 1 1 Quote

It can be done. Quote

major Posted Wednesday at 01:54 AM Posted Wednesday at 01:54 AM (edited) Roger G’s press conference today was a laugher. There’s nothing wrong with the refs. Yeah right- just like there wasn’t CTE or spygate or multiple other infractions he has covered up. I’m glad he is finally getting tough questions from the media. Summation: his product is flawed, the nfl shield is tarnished, and he is doing his very best to cover it up so that the gravy train can keep going. Judgement has come Roger Edited Wednesday at 04:03 AM by major 2 1 1 1 Quote

Orlando Buffalo Posted Wednesday at 02:34 AM Posted Wednesday at 02:34 AM Between Roger and the Refs Union both being "insulted" that people think it is fixed I couldn't help but notice they did not address the reason people think that, which is the level of officiating being putrid. Neither one said anything- at least in the clips I saw- in regards to the calls being unacceptable. I don't think it is fixed, but I do think the top 25% of NFL fans would be superior refs to what we have, which is guys who think they are part of the game Quote

Repulsif Posted Wednesday at 09:17 AM Posted Wednesday at 09:17 AM Goodell covers his minions just like any bad L2 boss will cover L1 boss in a company. You don't mess with the hierarchy, even if you're right. Nothing different here. Only thing you can do is to stop buying the company 's products. Quote

I think that they might be forced to let the Eagles win this time. Why "forced"? They're going to give the Eagles preferential treatment. And just as bad as the Chiefs normally get. Why? Kills the claims. And it's safe now. What difference would it make to the league? They got the Swifties and all that to the big game. They got their three-peat drama. None of that matters after the Super Bowl. The league gets what it wants regardless of who wins. And if KC loses, they have the three-peat drama to replay down the line. Quote

They have decided not to do it for 15 years. The technology is there. Buy it. Use it. the national narrative is that the league has serious officiating problems. Much worse than any other sport. They could attempt to change that. But they don’t. Why? I think the NFL is pry going to go overboard now in using the technology and making obvious penalties/non penalties reviewable. Their biggest fear is that enough dumb people will think the game is rigged because of gambling and they'll stop watching. Kind of the perfect storm of the Chief fatigue, bad officiating that went the Chiefs way, and the whole Taylor Swift story line. 1 Quote

As far as the word "forced," I don't think that the league wants to lose its crediility, and needs to get some back. It isn't only Bills Fans that think our game was rigged. People are saying it everywhere, to the point where Goodell had to tell the press that claims of a fix are ridiculous. Most people have short memories. A Chiefs loss and folks will tell themselves that all is well. 18 hours ago, NewEra said: Same here. I think there are now enough people like me that the NFL needs to respond. I don't think it is rigged I simply think the officials are incompetent. They call what they expect not what they see and they don't expect KC to make mistakes. 1 Quote

That's like saying it's not a controversial statement to say Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa were great players by pointing out how many home runs they hit in 1998. How many Super Bowls would Mahomes have won if the league, via the refs, weren't putting their thumbs on the scale? I don't care if he goes on to win ten Super Bowls. All but the first few will always carry an asterisk. One of the many disgusting aspects of the cheating, the one I'm least concerned about actually, is that it does diminish what Mahomes and the Chiefs have done. For this reason, rather than denying the cheating (which they have no part of), they should be first in line criticizing it. Quote
