NORWOODS FOOT Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago I said it in another thread: No Hope. No Fear. Whatever will be will be. Either all of the atoms bouncing since the beginning of time align in the Bills winning or they don’t. I love the Bills as much as anyone but I’ve gotten to a place of acceptance this year regarding any potential championships. I don’t feel like hurting anymore. Just want to enjoy the ride. 1 1 Quote

NOBODY thinks that. I may need to go offline, or at minimum not post in the game day thread I'm in no mood for piffle or baloney. I'm just being real with it. PETRIFIED The coaches and players have done a great thing so far. I'm sure they are playing their best tonight. We have Josh Allen. I'm good with that! 1 Quote
BUFFALOBART Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Just prepping my chicken wings, like I do for every other, Bills game. I still think, that we will prevail. 1 Quote

But we all know how this goes. Rebuilding year or not, we lose this game and the entire narrative will not be about how we were a rebuilding team with $70 million in dead cap space that wasn't even supposed to make the playoffs by most accounts, but rather how Allen and the Bills failed in the playoffs again and how Allen will never be able to beat Mahomes when it matters most. Is that fair? Of course not. I mean, we know what the expectations were heading into this season, but the second we lose this game tonight, it's all going to be about how we choked and lost 4 in a row (yes.....another set of 4 in a row jokes will be incoming) to Mahomes. Allen could throw for 400 and run for 125 and have 5 TDs. But the second Tyler Bass misses a 35 yard game winning FG, or the defense gives up a 99 yard drive and we lose by 1 as time expires, it will all be about how Allen couldn't beat Mahomes again. It's not fair, but that is the reality we are all facing tonight if we don't win, rebuilding year or not..... Edited 17 hours ago by sven233 1 1 Quote
Scott7975 Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago I'm perfectly calm. I have no doubts that we can beat KC today. I just want the game to get here. I hate the waiting part. Last week I had nerves about the Ravens because I felt it was the worst matchup we could have. This week no nerves. 1 Quote

ShakAttack Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Last week, when a dropped pass by the other team sealed the deal for the Bills, I wondered if it was a symbolic of a turning point for the Bills, or if this year was just different. I say that because, in the playoffs, when stuff like that happened, it was ALWAYS at the Bills expense… until last week. So I wondered if that meant this year would be different, and I guess today we will find out. But am I confident? No. For some reason I can’t even fathom Mahomes being upset at the end of a playoff game in Arrowhead. but to be fair, I guess part of that is because I don’t remember what he looked like when the Bengals won at Arrowhead a few years ago.. haha 1 Quote

thenorthremembers Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago I was until Thursday night. Actually been calm all playoffs until then. Something hit me just as I was laying down. They've come way too far to lose agin. Then the opposite of calm set in. Quote

In life this is a challenge but with football I have to get to the point where it’s pointless to worry about things I can’t control and I can’t control football outcomes. Also these are two different teams than the previous playoff meetings, and all previous bills playoff games were different teams, so in my mind they do not matter and history doesn’t dictate today’s result. And then breathe and try to just enjoy that we are here. What do you mean you can't control football outcomes? There's a thread after game about how watching the game with one eye closed, etc., is directly responsible for the Bills winning or losing! I mean, talk sense here, man! Quote

cd1 Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago (edited) I am trying to savor these moments BEFORE the game. Kinda like Christmas Eve when sugar plums are still free to dance in my head. I am old and would love to live to see the Bills win a Super Bowl. But lately I just seem to pray that Josh Allen is able to achieve his dreams/goals and is not held back by a team not good enough to help him get there... I hope that this Bills team, right here, right now, are the wind beneath his wings! Edited to add: GO BILLS Edited 17 hours ago by cd1 2 Quote

WotAGuy Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Thanks for this thread. Been trying to cope with the feelings today. Mixture of anxiousness and subtle confidence. It’s been a difficult 9 months - lost my dog of 14 years in the spring and over the past three months lost my MIL, my best friend, and my mentor/father figure (just this week). I’ve been better able to deal with those 4 losses than I am the feelings about this game. @YoloinOhio said it best for me; trying to consider all outcomes and be ok with them all. I will say I hope it’s a blowout one way or the other; not sure I can handle a down to the wire ending right now. 2 Quote

There may be some misplaced priorities; but some of us have deep ties to loved ones that involve the Bills, and have life-long passions for the team and have been through decades of ups and downs. Just because people are expressing anxiousness over a really important game doesn’t necessarily mean priorities are misplaced. If you’ve been on this board as long as you have you should understand this. Edited 16 hours ago by WotAGuy Quote
