Maybe... The SB will be the ultimate test I guess. The KC Offense looked pretty pedestrian vs Houston... I do agree they are a completely different team in the postseason...when they play the Bills...

Um Samuel literally dropped the ball that hit him right in the hands and even though Allen didn’t lead him he still catches that and falls down for a 7 yard completion. Making it 3rd and 3. Curtis Samuel signed a 30 million dollar contract. 30 million dollar players make that catch.

They had us finishing behind the Jets and the Dolphins The only game we lost by more than a TD  was the  Ravens game and we beat them in the playoffs. Not what we wanted, but a pretty good year. Better than everyone except  KC and Philly. Philly has the best defense in the league They are going to cream KC.

If that's the argument then it has to be for both sides of the ball. Yet the offense only scored one less point at Arrowhead than they managed at Highmark in week 11. And if it wasn't for bad drops and repetitive play calling it could have been more.

It is on repeat, but the Bills really need to have a buttoned up regular season and get the 1-seed.  Both the AFCC and AFCW should be a few degrees tougher than the AFCE next year.

They would have won 14 games had they needed to play in week 18, that gets you the one seed just about any other year. It was just more bad luck that KC had only lost one game.

 

I do agree getting the 1 seed might be the Bills only realistic chance of winning a title, hopefully they have another 13-14 win season in them to have that opportunity.

Why didn’t we run cook vs tush push that chiefs clearly figured out how to stop? They couldn’t stop cook.

Not only that but he might have gotten up and gained a couple of more yards making it a 3rd & 1.  For sure that was a poor throw by Allen and if he had ed Samuels properly it would have been a 20 yard gain.  But earlier yesterday, the Skins QB threw about 5 passes that were off target and their receivers went down and caught the ball for positive yards.

All QBs have balls that get away from them or drift here and there except Buffalo. Josh Allen is not afforded that luxury.

Sorry but this a bad take.  Our all pro (2nd team) QB kept us in the game and in a position to win the game at the end.  He did this almost single handily with a lot of help from Cook. And Cook's success was likely due in large part to KC keying on Allen.  In football, when as you say your "pass catchers let you down" and the O line decides to "have a crap game" even an elite QB is not going to save the day.

I really think it is.  These teams are evenly matched, and KC gets the edges and gets to come in healthier and at home.  The Bills got the home game last year, but they had to play in survival mode for like 8 weeks, while KC got to rest and a cake-walk against Miami in the WC round.  The Bills were extremely depleted on defense...

 

 

But.

 

The counterpoint to all that is that the offense and Josh Allen had the ball in the past 2 playoff matchups vs the Chiefs with a chance to kill the clock and score a touchdown and they failed.  You see Mahomes and Brady finish those drives and killing their opponents over and over.   

I do think Allen/offense deserve a degree of the blame for not getting it done in these moments...

 

But.

 

They did get it done a few years ago and were set to host the AFCCG, but 13 seconds happened.

 

 

It is maddening and going to be a long offseason, and a long season, hoping for hopefully another run at this.

Now that my emotions have evened out a bit I really don’t think a half yard sneak is a bad call even if they know it’s coming…and I’d say it worked too just got kind of hosed on the spot. 

 

Imagine this board if we hand off to cook and he got stuffed for a loss which is probably what would’ve happened lol if you can’t hold up with guys pushing from behind on a half yard sneak I wouldn’t feel super confident about a hb run either

Sure Mahomes has lifted Reid into another level but to claim Reid did "diddly crap" in the playoffs until they drafted Mahome is dead wrong.

 

Before Mahomes and when Reid coached in Philly he made 5 conference championship games (losing 4 but he got to 5) and 1 Super Bowl - hardly "diddly crap".

Put Allen on the Chiefs yesterday and he likley torches the Bills for 40 points.  It would have been a repeat of the Bills/Patriots 2021 playoff game.

Agree.  After the Baltimore game there were like 250 posts complaining that McD and Brady didn't just keep tush-pushing into the end zone and now folks are saying we shouldn't have done that yesterday.  They just needed to execute those better.  Edwards had his worst day in a Bills uniform and it came at a terrible time.

I'm close but not there yet.  Here's what I think is happening, the Bills have reopened their SB window.  The 2024 Bills bear a lot of resemblance to the 2019 Chiefs that lost to NE in the AFC Championship game.  Next year the Bills will make and win the SB.
