BananaB Posted Monday at 03:30 AM Posted Monday at 03:30 AM Last year we miss a FG with 3 timeouts in our pocket and never touch the ball again. This year they drop the ball on 4th down with 3 timeouts in their pocket and never touch the ball again. So glad we have a defensive minded HC Quote

Allen was going to drive the field for a winning TD and exorcise all past demons. Man it was right there. That's our curse. It's always just RIGHT THERE....but we can't ever grab it. 1 Quote

Is there ever a time after the offense scores a big TD, that we can just get a ***** 3 and out? It’s always instant skates and 50 free yards in 3 plays. It’s the same show every season every game. Just fall back and pray the other team messes up. Make a stop That would be nice. But I’m not sure it’s realistic given how great these two teams are. KC’s defense was not stopping Allen and company all 2nd half until that last drive. Quote
Since1981 Posted Monday at 03:30 AM Posted Monday at 03:30 AM Let’s be clear. d sucked but O had it in their grasp until they took cook off the field 1 Quote
buffblue Posted Monday at 03:30 AM Posted Monday at 03:30 AM The combination of Hamlin and Elam was devastating in this game. It's bad enough that Damar is barely a replacement level player. Then he kamikazes our best defensive player and forces the entry of Elam, who the coaches clearly don't believe in. McD's comments at half time almost preemptively alluded to the disaster he knew would occur with Kaiir. Quote

Best Williams Available Posted Monday at 03:31 AM Posted Monday at 03:31 AM The KC coaches have like 50 years more experience than our 3 HC/DC/OC combined—much of it coming at the apex of situational football. It shows every year. There is no way to out coach them you have to out talent them! 1 Quote

familykwi Posted Monday at 03:31 AM Posted Monday at 03:31 AM My biggest concern coming in and takeaway after is that McDermott's defensive system and personnel can not shut down elite offenses. They give up too much space that will be exploited by QBs like Mahomes & Burrows. It all hinges on the defensive line penetrating & creating mayhem for QBs. Ed Oliver is too light to do this consistently and they draft long/strong outside rushers instead of speed rushers who can get to the QB quickly. Not to mention the cage rush that worked for the Bills week 11 was completely abandoned on the edges today which is why Mahomes could run at will around the edge. I love the culture he's built here. I don't want too start over offensively. I want to tear down the defense and attack the ball. I won't get what I want, but I want it nonetheless. 1 2 Quote

Second most points given up: 29 points to the Bills just now. The offense mostly did its job. If you have to score 33 points on the road against an elite defense, then you are pretty much already cooked. 1 1 Quote

Strethor Posted Monday at 03:31 AM Posted Monday at 03:31 AM Football is just a game, but it is becoming exceptionally more draining. Players aren't living up to their draft positioning (Kincaid, Elam, Coleman) that's on Beane Coaches aren't responding to game adjustments. Brady had questionable calls on the final drives that let the refs dictate the game.. Making it this far is not a given, it's hard to get here and it's hard to win. It hurts to know we are wasting Josh's prime with this stuff.. 1 Quote
Sojourner Posted Monday at 03:31 AM Posted Monday at 03:31 AM 2 minutes ago, Sandhill Mike said: That's why I think we need some free agents to fix our D. I don't trust our scouting program. We've invested draft pick after draft pick on the line and don't have much to show for it. I'd love to have a lineman that plays as consistently as Chris Jones but I know we won't get one in FA. Every guy doesn't have to be Chris Jones to be effective... we'll have to see what happens. The secondary needs an overhaul for sure. Somehow, we drafted the only first round corner to flop ever (that I can recall) in Elam. I wonder if we'll ever hear what really happened there... how they missed so badly? I know Hamlin has fans but I've not been happy with our safety situation since a healthy Hyde/Poyer. Coleman showed some flashes early on but I agree... he didn't show much down the stretch after the injury. Right now, it looks like another draft day mistake to compare him to Worthy... but I'm hoping long term, it pays off. I get people are down on Kincaid, but I'm still hoping he turns out to be a good pick. Beane got us Allen and for that I will always be grateful... but I sure would love to see more ROI from these draft classes. FA is tough. I will say though, it’s time to move on from Hamlin. He’s not a problem with Rapp but he’s in and out of the lineup. Go pay Camryn Bynum, pair him with Rapp. If Rapp goes down you slide Bishop or Hamlin in provided he makes the 53 again. Corner is going to be a challenge. You’re gonna have to pay for quality and then restrict yourself elsewhere. A guy like Carlton Davis who’s a FA is coming off an injury for one but he’s not going to be truly effective with that paltry pass rush. I hate for it to be another repeat to a few seasons again, and it isn’t just to beat KC, we need to rework this whole defensive line. More often than not in crunch time, they’re not making the absolute essential plays you’d hope a SB aspiring team to make. 1 Quote
Floydboy12 Posted Monday at 03:31 AM Posted Monday at 03:31 AM 2 minutes ago, Simon said: There was an instant read to an open spot on the field where Kincaid was heading and Allen double clutched it when he realized too late the corner was sealing off the edge. If he reads it quicker he has plenty of time to lay that ball right on Kincaid for an easy conversion, imo. Easy to see in hindsight, but if he just turns and flips it to Shakir, there was nobody within 25 yards of him. Quote
Since1981 Posted Monday at 03:32 AM Posted Monday at 03:32 AM This loss is on the coach, again. You all do realize losing by 3 two years in a row means coaching. 1 Quote
