I’m agreeing it’s the defense. I concede

But what the F was the offense doing?? They can’t play perfect, but it’s a foot!! Over and over.

I get it. The stat sheet spells out that the defense is the #1 issue. I’m just completely desensitized by it now, because we have the same HC. I just scream, “Offense- you have to capitalize! The defense sucks!!!!”

That’s exactly where I’m coming from.

Not sure if I missed it in the previous pages, but I think Kincaid getting the 1st down on the screen was more obvious than Allen getting it on the sneak. Shakir didn't get a good block or it would have been bigger gain, but I was surprised that play wasn't looked at.

They just rushed it, like it didn’t matter. Then they fail to accomplish what they’re setting up at a gimme. The Bills always do this. Same way they completely quit(?) on 3&9 at the end. What was that??

I don’t get why Brady kept calling plays behind the first down marker and barely anything beyond? It eventually caught up to the offense.

The past four losses against the Chiefs in the playoffs, the defense has given up 38,42, 27 and 32 points. I get that there were injuries the past two postseasons, but then again, injuries are part of the game, especially this late in the season. I feel like the defense (and coaching) lets the team down every year in the postseason.

think im done with this league.  its not just this loss, its a cumulation of things over the decades.  its gotten much worse lately though.  overpriced garbage catering to degenerate gamblers. i know i wont be missed,  i know nobody cares, just sucks that i continue to lose things that i used to enjoy.  im a 30 year Ohio State fan going back to the John Cooper days.  youd think that i would have celebrated their Championship win last week.  nope,  something about that left a bad taste in my mouth.

dont know exactly why,  something is wrong though.  the product just doesnt feel like its worth getting involved anymore.

Its been said on TBD- the difference between the Bills and Chiefs is Chris Jones.  Interior pressure is the quickest way to rattle the QB.  A stud DT controls the line of scrimmage in short yardage situations.  DT and WR are major needs.  As is CB.

Von Miller didn't really show did he.

Got to be the worst signing in Bills history considering the cover we could have had in other positions (cough cough secondary) if we hadn't paid him here.

Nothing against Von himself, he's been injured and he's been trying and is a great of the game. But I can't think of a worse value signing at a more clutch time for the franchise.

Can't think of one game where he made a difference we couldn't have made without him.

Enjoyed seeing him sprinting up the field with the ball last week. Hopefully, it's my last memory of him in the blue, red and white.

What's the answer?

Can someone give me any reason not to walk away?  Why should we have hope for next year, or any year?

I'm an eternal optimist - but this is TOO MUCH.  It is way too much.

The answer is we need more dynamic coaching with better attention to details coming in and we need to tweak our defensive system (especially the DL) and get the personnel needed.

We were right there except for a botched reception.

Josh sees all and is at the top of his game.

McDermott needs to realize where and why we got outcoached and make changes.

But this is how it's going to be competing with Lamar and Mahomes every year.  Coaches and FO need to up their game.

I would say clearly you're not an eternal optimist and that's ok.  Walk away if you must or take some tiime and perspective to rediscover your optimism.

Earning a Superbowl will be the opposite of the 90's Bills because the AFC is so strong this time around.

Yes he isn’t immune. He had the opportunity every QB asks for, but unlike Mahomes Brady Manning he failed. He’s had his chances to prove himself and hasn’t, he’s a choker until otherwise and they aren’t going anywhere with him.

This is the most ignorant thing I've ever seen in a football discussion.  I have no words other than I hope you stop being a Bills fan.

It seems so for sure. I get tired of hearing all week long about how Spags likes to send DB blitzes when the game is in the line and then you hear Josh say "I wasn't expecting it". What!?
i love Josh. Glad we have him, but him saying that tonight is just a microcosm of what this team looks like when they play KC. Were always a step behind or tricked or fooled into believing that maybe we're something that we're not.

Yep, that's on coaching.  We are an established team and you can't be content to rest on that.  Extra effort to details of KC must be made if we want to beat them.

Random observations after the debacle:

A.) Beane knew they had bad safties in the off season after losing Poyer and Hyde. That's why he went to free agency and a high draft choice..didnt help.

B.) Yes, Elam had an awful game..but despite a lack of talent, he was set up to fail with how much playing time he's had throughout the season. Wasnt he even inactive a good number of games?

C.) Hamlin is a great story, but he's not a starting safety in the NFL.

D.) Pass rush discipline..particularly Rousseau...Mahommes running around the right end all night just killed the Bills...any idea why no spy on Mahommes most of the game?...seemed to be effective when it was called.

E.) Yes, the Chiefs have Jones, but on short yardage plays the Bills got almost no push whatsoever up and down the line...had thought a big powerful line had been one of their strengths, but not last night. Think whoever had the ball was going to get stuffed in the backfield.

F.) Anyone else tired of the fade along the sidelines where Coleman is fully engaged with a DB, and the ball sails harmlessly over his head?...lets just tear that page out of the playbook.

G.) First person I'd fire is the special teams coach..what a terrible season.

H.) Very solid playoffs by Bass.

I.) Better resign Cook..what a great asset.

I lay a lot of the blame of these losses on Beane. Years ago everyone knew Chiefs were team to beat..Beane even said it himself in interviews and would try to build his team with that in mind...yet after drafting Rousseau,  Basham, and Epenesa and the cap destroying signing of Miller..the D line was completely ineffective AGAIN last night. That signing of Miller was probably the cap reason you were stuck with the safeties you had.

This will be a very telling off season.  As a lot of folks on this board observed, it's time to blow up the defense and start over..cant do much worse than what you've got.

Coleman- still more interested in playing patty cakes than high pointing the ball.  Why are we throwing to him in a big spot?  I could of told you- Coleman is going to patty cakes, and not be in any position to catch the ball

Haven’t seen a replay -  was the pass even catchable?

I think most of the throws to Coleman this season were catchable.  But almost everytime Coleman prefers to play patty cakes than jump thru the ceiling to high point a ball.  Elam and Coleman cannot keep their hands off the opponent.  Play the F-ing ball- not the opponent!

To me, his forte is the contested catch. Looking deeper, it has to be because he’s a sh!tty WR who doesn’t run precise routes and can’t separate. Can he learn to be? I don’t think so. Too immature to realize he HAS too and more than a little dumb..

I agree-  But was this pass catchable?  Asking for real.

I heard here that Josh has mastered the jump ball.  @HappyDays I have little confidence in Josh throwing jump balls

probably.  Coleman gets so enamored with patty cakes that by the time the ball arrives, he has not leaped yet, hes content playing patty cakes.  So yes, if Coleman played the ball, he would of caught it.  But he does not put himself in position to catch the ball.  Its infuriating

Ugh. Just watched the 4th down. Torrence had no idea who to block. Ugh! He lets 2 players rush right up the middle which forces Josh to run.

Also Josh was completely fooled. Shakir might score with his run after catch ability.

Josh predetermined that he was going to Cooper on the drag or Kincaid on the deep crosser. He was wrong.
