Dont even disagree with that- But at some point if the bills are gonna get to a Super Bowl, gonna have to hold KC to under 30 IMO You would hope they could, but I thought this year we had the offense that could dictate a game, keep Mahomes on the sideline, and overcome our weaknesses on D. The D got back to back stops and I thought we were in business. 2 1 Quote

SCBills Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Honestly shocked the refs made so many suspicious calls for the Chiefs, again… after all week the spotlight was on Chiefs/NFL officiating. It’s like they took it as a challenge to one up the Texans game. Theres the slow start from Allen, who ended up balling out after. But due to the shortcomings of this roster/coachng staff, we can’t afford an Allen slow start. Theres McDermott’s Defense once again folding against the Chiefs. Theres Allen’s playmakers once again choking the game away in a big spot. Theres Beane’s high picks getting exposed as Xavier Worthy makes plays. But even with all of that.. what could have been if the refs didn’t steal a possession from us up 1, in Chiefs territory, 4th Quarter. Every. Time. It’s all anyone remembers from this game. It’s all anyone is talking about. The fact the Bills got screwed and the Chiefs were helped out by officials. But the NFL doesn’t care.. and maybe they even want it this way. 2 1 Quote

I would expect the strength of our team to pull us through much more than I would rely on our defense, which has depended on turnovers all year just to simply not be totally bottom tier. Quote
Goin Breakdown Posted January 27 Posted January 27 12 minutes ago, Johnnycage46 said: We are led to believe there is parity in the NFL...no so. It's basically the Chiefs. As long as they exist with that QB, coaching staff and front office, no team has a shot. It seems so for sure. I get tired of hearing all week long about how Spags likes to send DB blitzes when the game is in the line and then you hear Josh say "I wasn't expecting it". What!? i love Josh. Glad we have him, but him saying that tonight is just a microcosm of what this team looks like when they play KC. Were always a step behind or tricked or fooled into believing that maybe we're something that we're not. 2 Quote
KOKBILLS Posted January 27 Posted January 27 19 minutes ago, Sojourner said: So who’s at fault? Our defense stopped them in scoring territory and kept it to a FG. On top of that they shut them down in back to back drives to open the second half that kept us in the game. Don’t forget the fumble that was originally waved off due to Ed and his phantom offside but was later handed back to us by Pat in scoring territory. Im not giving McD a pass, so please don’t think that, im just being impartial to everything that unfolded, but the defense did enough. We knew what we had as fans. We expected them to score and they gave up only 11 points in the second half with Kaiir “Leodis” Elam, Cole Bishop and Hamlin as the key cogs to that secondary. The errors fall on Brady and his selections. I can give him a pass for running the Josh shorts earlier. I can’t give it to him for doing it again FOUR times on one drive. The fourth time ended up costing us and not converting it due to a bad spot/call by the refs. There is no way any offensive coordinator should be going to that play that much let alone on one drive. Especially when the team caused huge problems for you running it previously. You will never see an OC worth his salt doing that. Many have said he’s just another guy riding the back of Josh Allen. Now I agree with them after that debacle. Any decent play caller wouldn’t be repeating that all day. They’d give them the same look and pull the rug. Not Joe Brady… I think ultimately McD's at fault because he's the HC and he has told us all year the the QB sneak is their best play. He did not self-scout and know that, in the big game, that was when you use it against your opponent... Even sneaking to the left was a terrible mistake in this game because everyone knows that is the Bills tendency... Yes...Brady should know better too... And it's just as much on him... But in the end it falls on McD because there is a history here of him getting schooled by this Chiefs coaching staff... And I'm not calling for McD's head or anything because at this point I'm just resigned to the fact that we are never going to the SB as long as Reed and Mahomes are around... It literally is what it is... This team was clearly not ready for this game from the start. They hung in there and with pure grit and determination almost pulled it out. But with proper preparation and game plan I think they would have won by 2 TD's... Maybe more... And IMHO, that's on the HC... But that's just me... Go Bills... 2 2 Quote
VaMilBill Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Maybe the issue is that the Chiefs know all the tendencies of McD and know how to beat him. The offense has changed so much in the last few years. But the defense has remained the same and still can’t win. McD is ineffective against the Chiefs when it matters 2 Quote

Weird. 44 minutes ago, fan_in_tx said: Can't believe they didn't even measure the Josh Allen first down.. Just reviewed it and said KC ball.. didn't even spot the ball ... Agreed fellas! Two plays: The Worthy catch at the 2 should have either been an interception or an incomplete pass. Worthy did not have equal possession of the ball with Bishop before it hit the ground. Probably should have been ruled incomplete. KC kicks a FG there rather than getting the TD. -4 points. I thought that Kincaid had the first down on the third down play. No measurement or review for that, just spotted short. Oh well. Then it appears that Josh makes the first down. The ref with the clearest view has it spotted for a first down. The ref from the other side, who did not have a clear view, marks it short. Then as he comes towards the pile, he moves his mark back further. And then as they are talking and setting the ball, they move it back further. Tony Romo noted it on the broadcast. He literally said they moved the spot back twice. And again, on the most crucial play of the game, no measurement even. They just go to video and confirm short. If it had been called a first, as the ref with the better view had it, it would have been very hard to overturn with review. Both announcers and the CBS on-air referee said that they thought it was a first down. Buffalo was already close to field goal range, instead KC takes the ball over and scores a TD on a shortish field. That is a 10-14 point swing. So, just those two plays alone altered the score of the game by 14-18 points. 1 hour ago, Harold Jackson said: WWE entertainment It is much easier to take these losses and just enjoy the fun of the games/season when you start viewing the current NFL more like Pro Wrestling. Come on, you know the NFL wants KC to get the three-peat (or at least keep that storyline alive for two more weeks). Watch Kelce announce his retirement just before the Super Bowl and KC magically wins and he gets to ride off into the sunset with Taylor and Jason (and then they break up within a year). Now, I'm not putting everything on the refs by any means though. We definitely did not play our best, and we still had our chances to go and win that game. We just didn't get it done. I don't think there is any one person to blame for it (Mcdermott, Beane, Kincaid, Josh, the defense). We just didn't make the plays (on offense or defense) in the clutch. I think that is a talent issue probably, but I don't put that on Beane either, he was so strapped this year with dead cap, he couldn't do a lot. Which is why everyone was calling this a rebuild/retooling year. I know some people will still be focused on offense and WR in the offseason (and I'm not saying ignore it---especially if we don't retain Amari), but what this team really needs is an elite pass rusher #1 (we hoped we had bought that with Von, but it just didn't work out); a big, stud DT #2 (watching the Philly, Washington, and KC D-lines today...we didn't measure up); and a revamped secondary (fix the safeties, add depth). With McD's defense, you need to get pressure with your front four and have good coverage. We have a ton of good draft picks and will be released from the dead cap money. So, we should continue to contend over the next few years, but most likely, with a much more talented team overall than this year's team. [Not that I don't love this year's team and am happy with all that they accomplished.] And as Simon and others said...no shame ultimately in losing to some GOATs (Reid, Spags, Pat, Travis) as much as it sucks to do it for the fourth time. After we lost our fourth SB back in the 90s, our team was old and falling apart. We've lost 4 heartbreakers to KC in the playoffs, but this team is still in their prime. Maybe that is a good omen for the future. We can still overcome/avenge these losses. [Just trying to take a positive spin on things---outside of the refs.] Go Bills! 1 Quote
ALLinALLEN Posted January 27 Posted January 27 James cook changing his Twitter photo to a cowboys logo and saying “20mil a year” this is great……. Quote
Richard Noggin Posted January 27 Posted January 27 Turns out that boring, physical offense was the answer, and they were too reluctant to be boring. Cook and Co. was the key, and the Bills failed to adjust to their tush push being neutralized. Conservative football, no 2-pt conversions, could have overcome the slanted and favorite-ing calls we had to endure. Quote
Thrivefourfive Posted January 27 Posted January 27 I’m not seeing the argument that the offense was good enough to win tonight. I actually blame the offense for not cashing in on countless opportunities to control this game. When they did anything good, they screwed it up. 21-16 is a joke. The defense bailed out the offense just as much. Other than Cook being a star, the Bills were ugly ugly ugly. Everything difficult except Cook. Lucky ass fourth down Samuel TD and a Miracle Mac Hollins catch.. (where the PI was on him if anyone). The offense was disjointed as a whole, and made routine look hard, hard look undoable without luck. Awful to have happen in this game. 1 1 Quote
