I'm reminded of when the Sabres beat Ottawa in 5 games in 2005-06 to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals. The Senators' flagship radio station took calls for hours after the elimination game which they dubbed the "annual all night wake". I experienced true schadenfreude, friends.

 

It was short lived. Being a Buffalo sports fan is a non stop wake and there is no release from the torment.

100 percent. If you are gonna win a Super Bowl, it's almost impossible to score 30 plus points every game lol. Especially against elite defences.

KC won a game 17-10 in the afc championship game last year against Lamar Jackson to get to the Super Bowl.

Its just unrealistic to ask for 32-35 points every game from your O

Im with you man. Im not absolving them if any failures. They stunk up the joint. Badly. 
 

But we knew they weren’t going to be great last week. This week and even in a potential SB against Philly. 
 

All I read and agreed with was “we just need them to make a couple of stops”

 

They did.
A turnover, even if it was thanks to Mahomes, in scoring territory. 
2 punts on back to back drives to start the second half. 
 

Sure they failed on stopping the final drive but dude, we all knew they wouldn’t lol it had to be Josh and Co. with the ball in hand or putting the Chiefs in a position where they were down 4+ in the final minute/s. 
 

Our offense failed on downs twice out of our final 3 drives because of some awful playcalling. We were struggling with the go to sneaks with Josh but Brady still went back to and essentially put it on the officials, who I will agree incorrectly spotted and called that. The second failed downs had some weird play design too but was a failure thanks to our pass catching TE dropping an absolute unreal throw. 
 

Offensive coaching was more at fault than what we knew we had with the defense before Benford even went down.

Did the offence have a chance and could they have done better at the end? Ya for sure.

 

But I'm looking at the game from a macro view - Almost 400 yards of offence and 29 points on the road against a top 5 D is pretty damn good

There's also another saying that says a team's strengths get them into the playoffs, and the team's weaknesses are what get them eliminated from the playoffs.

 

We knew going into this game the defense was the weakness.  The offense would need to overcome that weakness and almost did, but fell short.

All that, and the offense still had the opportunity they would ask for with 3:33 to go.  They have to go score and win the game.

The trio of Spags, Reid and Mahomes is deadly. Spags is the dude that beat the GOAT with Eli Mannig. His defenses always showed up when it mattered most. And of course the dude has no desire to be a HC so he’s just going to die in KC. Reid is an offensive genius. And Mahomes is a clutch, great player. 
 

It’s just a brutal trio to overcome. You have to play a perfect game and have some balls bounce your way to beat them. Neither happened for us. We are an amazing team. What hurts most is knowing that we would possibly have 2 Super Bowls by now if not for the Chiefs. That’s what really hurts with all of this.

I understand what you're saying and agree with continually returning to the sneaky/tush push was utterly stupid. They let the officials make a decision rather than take it out of their hands by clearly getting a first. A lack of Cook was also confusing, and hope McDermott/Brady are asked about it.

 

Getting to 29 down to unreal play from Josh, Cook and Hollins was a great achievement though. And that should have been enough.

Exactly- Chiefs defence in 4 games last post season games didn't let up 30 points.  (And haven't let up 30 in 2 games this year(
 

I believe this is the most points they have given up since the Super Bowl against Philly.

There's good and not quite good enough when you know your defense is the weak link.

 

Brady didn't bring his A game today the offense squandered opportunities we normally capitalize on.

 

When you know what you weakness is, it's up to the other aspects of the game to compensate.  

 

KC scored 21 against us earlier this year in our house. It's not a stretch to think they would do better in a playoff game in their house.
