Bro. There was a handful of throws to start the game that should have been better but that was pretty much it.

I saw

  • a solid OLine all year get eaten alive in pass blocking 70% of the time.

  • An OC who gave him no chance at audibles in those short yardages and continued forcing the issues.

  • An OC who, after your RB was Cooking them up, stopped using him.
  • skill positions who, and all season long, continued to get no separation
  • motioning shakir in the backfield didn’t work all season but Brady continued
  • A TE who dropped an absolute throw from the stars with the game on the line
  • one offensive player on KC took THREE of our defenders out on that jet roll by Mahomes on the drive to ice the game

Josh left a couple of plays on the field but the majority of this game’s failings fall on Joe Brady and the offensive coaching staff.

Refs played their part with some horrific calls but it is what it is. We expected it. Defense was never going to be great but they made a stop to force a FG when the game could have “been put out of reach”.

Offensive coaching was the difference. We kept running into a brick wall with the play calls. Reid & Co. designed plays to run around or over the wall….

Absolutely and when it’s crunch time Reid and company continue to make it look easy when the games on the line.

They outclass us in every way from front office to coaching.  Hell I’d give Spags a shot at running the show here and brining in whoever their assistant gm is at this point.

KC had their best output today all season on offence.

I would expect the bills defence to hold them under 30, as KC was under 30 all season with the exception of one game where they were right at 30.

This is not the Tyreek Hill/prime Travis Kelce Chiefs offence where you should need 35 points to win

So you're telling me our defense sucks?  OK, tell me something I didn't already know and it wasn't going to get any better with Benford and Rapp out.

This defense has survived on creating or being gifted turnovers. They were only gifted one tonight.

We've won this year by being the highest scoring offense in team history.

We left points on the field twice and didn't convert on 4th down twice. I don't know what else needs to be said.

Here's the problem.  All of us watching tonight were calling for McD's head right after the game but then I asked them who would you like to replace McD there wasn't a lot of answers.

This week we saw 7 new coaches hired.  The only one of those guys I might be interested in talking about would be Vrable.  But he's another D minded coach who didn't do as well at TN as McD has done in Buffalo.

I mean do any of you want Pete Carrol? The Detroit assistant coaches were the hot commodities but how confident are you that they're actually going to be any good?  I'm not.

Let's look at who is making the Super Bowls the last few years:

*  Chiefs: best coaches and 2nd best GM in football.

*  Eagles: average coaches but the best GM in football.

*  SanFran: 3rd best coaches and 3rd best GM in football.

*  LA Rams: 2nd best coaches and 4th best GM in the NFL

*  Bengals: Fluke.

It's not insane to say that McD & Bean may be as high as the 5th best coach/GM in football.  Without doubt they're in the top 10.

Our only choice at this point is that the Bills have to make it work with McD/Bean.  To part ways would be just to risky.

NFC has it easy...almost all the elite QBs are in the AFC and the only one they got was a rookie this year and his team wasn't ready for primetime yet...and why would they be, they are coming off a 4-13 season.

Washington should dominate that conference for years to come.

This was the game to know you own tendencies and to break out the magic you've been holding back all year...

Instead we just McD'd it... We tried to fundamentals it to a SB... And the crazy thing is it almost worked... That's what I think is the most surprising thing. If we had anything close to Reed and Spag's play calling savvy we would have won by 2 TD's tonight...

The different was on defense. The Bills defense let the Chiefs score over 30 for the first time this season. Ignoring the week 18 rollover, the Chiefs defense has only let one team score 30+. The Bills in week 11.

I don’t really like our propensity to try to blame one thing…the offense probably has to pick up the defense when benford goes down and they had a shot to do it and the whole team came up short

Give me Spags to coach and whoever KC’s assistant gm at this point.  To run it back with this crew is insanity

This is the thing with me about McDermott.   Attention to detail, especially in the playoffs.   Overly relying on the systems.

They had the tush push defensed and only once did we try a two count coming out of a time out.  Give me a break Coach Obvious!

Meanwhile Mahomes is running that sweep right with impunity and down a defender in that area all night.

That the Bills had not created a variation off the tush push in the event a team was successfully stopping it seems like football malpractice to me.

There's a reason why the saying is offenses win games whilst defenses win championships. Whilst the defense continues to suck, the Bills will not get a ring.

The defence does suck, agreed . Which cost them the game . (Which was my point)

Can't keep depending on the offence to score 30 plus points to win 4 playoff games in a row against elite defences. Just not going to happen

The defense looked just as bad with Benford out there. The offense scored 29 on a team who, ignoring week 18, has only let one team (the Bills) score 30 on them all season. Yes, the play calling on the two points conversions were awful, as we're the tush pushes. It was basically down to Josh, Cook and Collins it was that close. But 29 on the road should be enough to win.

After the drought, I'll admit to being less bummed (long term) about losing in the playoffs.  I'm likening this Mahomes/Allen rivalry to Brady/Manning.  Brady got the better of it early but Peyton got some big wins later in his career.  Build the defense, shore up the receiving room, learn how to feature the running back every now and again... we could dominate.

Manning never lost this many times to Brady in the playoffs.

The Ravens, Broncos and Chiefs were 3 of the top 5 defenses this season and the offense put up 31, 27 and 29 on them while doing well in TOP in each game and only giving a short field once (which was the BS call of the 4th down this game), with zero lost fumbles or interceptions.

The defense just flat out stinks and gave zero resistance to the Ravens or KC. They have to do better if we want to make the Super Bowl.

Yup the defense sucks and the offense was given the opportunity to at least tie or even win the game.

They got outplayed.

Well, on to next year.  Bills will be getting both SB teams at home.  Also, home games against Baltimore, Tampa, a Cincinnati team that I think will be improved, and games at Pittsburgh and Houston.  Certainly have their work cut out for them.

Tough loss guys. It really hurts. It just appears to me that the Chiefs are much more prepared than us, especially in those high leverage moments of a game.

For example, Mahomes running the same qb motion to the right multiple with the option to throw out run. He ran that at least 3-4 times without us adjusting. How that happens is head scratching. Additionally, I still don't understand how they were able to stop our qb sneaks. Everything seemed hard for us in those big moments while easy for them.

I'm really happy with the offense I'm general but we need some wr who can seperate. The defense as a whole needs a lot of work.

This hurts but with more cap space and draft picks, I think this team will be better. "If you keep knocking on the door, it shall be opened."

Heck of a season. Proud of the team.
