I have never been more convinced that the NFL is rigged.

4.57am here as I begin to type this.

 

I am bitter for now yet optimistic for next year, maybe foolishly but hey I can't quit on this team .

 

I didn't have the benefit of the English commentary but Bjorn Werner on German TV was just astounded by the constant tush pushing failures saying Philly can run it and Buffalo can't.

 

We scored touchdowns with two superhero touchdowns, Bass made a 53 yarder and Phillips had the huge sack but the final needed miracle never came. 

 

We are still the best fanbase in the NFL, wishing that Philly can stop KC in New Orleans.

This game as a whole, is 80 percent on the defence IMO

McD's scheme just isn't up to snuff, or at least it isn't when it comes to competent teams. Bend don't break only works when the other guy makes a mistake or if you get a big turnover.

 

We consistently have no pressure. We consistently have WRs wide open in our backfield. We consistently are bad against the run. This is consistent the past 7+ years, regardless of personnel.

 

Unless we get some superstar talent in the DL, like a TJ Watt or Chris Jones type, I don't see the scheme ever working against Mahomes and Reid.

Everyone is pinpointing things saying it’s the problem. Its a culmination of everything. Not getting the 1 seed, bad draft picks, mcD getting out coached, Josh getting nervous early on again, dumb penalties, putting themselves in bad 4th down positions all the time, injuries, Challenging plays that don’t need to be challenged, etc. its never ending. And not that the Chiefs didn’t make mistakes too, but sometimes there’s too much to overcome.

 

Honestly i felt we got lucky with a lot of fumbles bouncing our way and big time phew we made it plays, that this game could have easy got away from us more.

 

Josh could have easily had 3 ints this game..

Yep- like I posted before, the problem is they play and design their defence to play bend but don't break all season.

Then they ask their zone corners to play man to man in the playoffs and be more aggressive. It's such a backwards philosophy

Given the circumstances of the blitz there, Josh put the ball in position to keep the drive alive. They couldn't convert.

 

We won last week because of turnovers.  I knew going into this game KC doesn't turn it over very often and it was going to take our offense simply outscoring them.  We left 4 points on the field on two bad 2 pt tries and also turned the ball over on downs twice (one very questionable).  

How about the fact that the offense put up enough points where they could even put together a final drive. KC hasn’t scored 30 points all season! This was literally the worst defensive performance of the season against the Chiefs and the 2nd best offensive performance against the Chiefs.

 

You have to look at the whole game. Defense was terrible (but that was predictable).

Well that's another season. We just can't get by the Chiefs.

 

Mahomes put on his cape and Allen did not. That was a key factor. I'm not saying Allen didn't make plays, but he started very wobbly, got it together but seemed in a panic at the end. If you look at their numbers, they are similar, but in key 3rd down situations -when they needed it -Mahomes delivered.

 

We were outcoached on all aspects of the game. Even though it was a close game it felt like everything we did took tremendous effort, whereas it seemed they always knew where we would be and where we wouldn't be. That's not execution-that is coaching.

 

Yes, some questionable calls, but nothing egregious.

 

It's galling that in the draft we skipped on Worthy (8 receptions 85 yrds 1 td, 2 carries 16 yrds) for Coleman (1 catch 12 yards). Coleman did not make contested catches and Worthy did. We worried Worthy was too small to be durable-this season he missed less time due to injury than Coleman and performed better than him in season and during the playoffs. That's simply bad drafting. Keon Coleman's numbers didn't even equal Gabe Davis numbers in his first season. At best I see Coleman as an average #2 player, and he's going to have to work himself towards that. Worthy is already a #1 for KC.

 

Before the season I said people were overhyping Dalton Kinkaid, who basically racked up big reception numbers in his first year by running s8 yard hooks and falling down while the entire defense collapsed on Diggs.  I'm not just upset at him for dropping a long shot pass Allen blindly lofted up in desperation. The truth is Kinkaid is nothing special, and we played better when he was hurt, and Knox was starting.

 

Von Miller invisible, Greg Rousseau Invisible. Oliver and Phillips generated some pressure in the middle. Milano was hit and miss. And we all know Elam has no business on this team-it's not just that he's bad but we've shown so little faith in a first round pick we've undoubtedly broken any confidence or football sense he had, and we should have traded him long ago.

 

Good on you James Cook and Mack Hollins. I don't know where else to give love. Bass. 

 

The defense needs a game wrecking DL and it's not Rousseau or Oliver. We can't let Josh Allen become Phillip Rivers 2.0

Not sure what you were expecting, especially with  no Rapp, no Benford.  

 

This would've happened last week had we not gotten some key turnovers.

 

This game went exactly how I expected.  The defense struggled against a seasoned HOF QB at home and the offense missed opportunities to put points on the board and keep drives alive.

Allen 4th down conversion magically spotted short after initially being spotted correctly a first down. 
 

Almost like several gifted extra possessions is meaningful in 1 score games.  Weird.

 

I’m not sure how they gave Worthy the catch. He never had the ball at all until after it hit the ground. The Bills player had

more control of the ball. 
 

Either way, Bills lost this game themselves not the refs.

Classic Bills game. Just not good enough….as always. Keep hoping against hope that the opposition will beat themselves (which is how we beat the Ravens) but with McD as the head of the spear this team will NEVER get to the top of the pyramid. Never.

Here's the problem.  All of us watching tonight were calling for McD's head right after the game but then I asked them who would you like to replace McD there wasn't a lot of answers.

 

This week we saw 7 new coaches hired.  The only one of those guys I might be interested in talking about would be Vrable.  But he's another D minded coach who didn't do as well at TN as McD has done in Buffalo.

 

I mean do any of you want Pete Carrol? The Detroit assistant coaches were the hot commodities but how confident are you that they're actually going to be any good?  I'm not.

 

Let's look at who is making the Super Bowls the last few years:

 

*  Chiefs: best coaches and 2nd best GM in football.

 

*  Eagles: average coaches but the best GM in football.

 

*  SanFran: 3rd best coaches and 3rd best GM in football.

 

*  LA Rams: 2nd best coaches and 4th best GM in the NFL

 

*  Bengals: Fluke.

 

It's not insane to say that McD & Bean may be as high as the 5th best coach/GM in football.  Without doubt they're in the top 10.

 

Our only choice at this point is that the Bills have to make it work with McD/Bean.  To part ways would be just to risky.
