We were running it down their throat.  You line up Cook you have the threat of play action and Josh can still run.  Tush push you have nothing.  That said I still think Josh made that 4th and 1.

As good as our OL was all season, I felt this might have been their worst game in pass pro. Edwards was constantly walked back into Allen and it made it look like the OTs lost their reps. No where to step up and now those DEs running the wheel are right on Allen.

 

Rough outing for the guys up front in terms of protection.

Oh, he was clearly off tonight. Got to give him some credit for reeling it in. But it was right there for the taking. 

 

Same with easy dump off the Cook at least three times where he never looked for him and just heaved it dangerously down field for incompletions or near picks.

In a nutshell, we were out-coached on both sides of the ball. Did well to have a chance at the end to begin with all things considered. Josh deserved better at the end, too. He made a helluva play to get that pass off on 4th down with three Chiefs ready to plant him. And Kincaid should have made that catch.

Except that he is the best QB against the blitz in the NFL by a very wide margin.

The spot? Really, that's a total guess since no one could see exactly where the ball was and replay didn't help. I can't blame anyone for that.

Agree about the catch but the ref closest to the ball with the clearest view had it almost a half yard over the line.  I don't bicker over missed calls usually but I felt this was egregious compared to most.  Too much of a swing towards the Chiefs.  Also the other thing that bothered me was all the hip drop tackles that the Chiefs players were using.  Should be some fines this week but I guess we don't call them in the game

Football gods punished them for jeopardizing Bendord's career. Whoever cleared him to play should be investigated.

DTs made adjustments and played the run better.  But, like you said  Groot didn’t finish plays when he got to Mahomes and didn’t contain on Mahomes’ running plays to the outside.  Didn’t notice any other DE making a difference either.  Story of our defense for far too long.

At this point, we just have to root for another team to take the Chiefs out in the playoffs or an unfortunate Mahomes injury. 

 

We don't draft well enough, and Allen can only take us to the AFCCG otherwise. 

 

Does anyone out there STILL think Elam is a good CB that's just treated unfairly by this coaching staff? How is this D always such pushovers in the playoffs? Why can KC always stifle Allen outside of the 13 second game? 

 

I want to be positive & think "this was supposed to be a rebuild year" and "next year we'll actually have money to spend & more draft picks!" but who trusts these guys to identify good players that'll help fix this team?

Easy to defend. 

Defense needs an overhaul,  secondary will have changes, need to improve the line. 

10000% agreed. This defense needs a complete change. All the way through. New players. This current group doesn't work.

 

Kaiir Elam HAS to go. Trade him. Get him out of Buffalo. He caused way too many penalties. He's too slow. He played too soft. He gave them tons of room; a complete failure.

 

Joe Brady failed in the 4th quarter with his play calls. We got away from James Cook. Feed him the rock. He was having a great game.

 

That was a first down on Josh Allen's QB sneak. Of course, in Chiefs Kingdom, it's NOT a first down.

 

Josh Allen is The Man. We need better receivers. Kincaid and Keon Coleman (even though a rookie) cannot get it done. It's really just Shakir.

 

McDermott..No more excuses.  He coaches a terrible defense and goes conservative, with Joe Brady, during crunch time. They have a lot to learn.

That ball also clearly hit the ground in 1st half. 

 

These were egregious poor calls when " all eyes " were on the NFL and tons of hard data and stats were shown on the " Chiefs get all the calls" truism. 

 

 

It's pathetic and shifted the result of this game. 

They were easy to correct also and they chose not to. Just call incomplete pass and a first down and they’d be off the hook.
