Tell that to Bobby Slowik......of course Stroud is no Josh Allen. Glad he will be around at least one more year!! 1 1 Quote

Mister Defense Posted Saturday at 11:52 PM Posted Saturday at 11:52 PM Darn it, was hoping he was going to lead the Saints next year and the Bills would bring back Dorsey for a second go round. Oh well, maybe next year? Hopefully Brady doesn't do what Ben Johnson did and pass on head coach positions two years in a row. 1 Quote

Goes to show how great the culture is here that he’d opt out of serious consideration for an NFL head coaching gig. But Tyler Dunne told me that McDermott is a tyrant who micromanages his subordinate coaches who all hated him and wanted to leave. 2 1 1 Quote

BUT, some supporters of Brady would say this is amazing, and surprising news, and grreat karma heading into the AFC Championship game tomorrow. I have even heard of one poster who is literally crossing off the head coaching positions as they have been filled this past week, and praying that the 2nd interview in New Orleans did not mean it was a done deal. Personally, I think he will be the Bengals new HC entering 2026 or possible the Bills new HC if Buffalo doesn’t at least reach the SB this year or next…but FWIW I fully expect to make the SB this year. I have a hard time seeing Buffalo open up the new stadium without some change if we still haven’t gotten over the hump and played in the big game. Given the Sabres issues, and the finances related to the new stadium and part-owners, I think Pegula will stick with McDermott as long as the Bills are having success. The fact that there is an all-time-level dynasty in their way buys further patience. 1 Quote
EmotionallyUnstable Posted yesterday at 12:07 AM Posted yesterday at 12:07 AM I am glad this is the case, as the success we’ve seen is encouraging and consistency will hopefully only make this success continue. That said, if he had left, I wouldn’t have broken up about it. I think the best thing he’s done here is found a competent and reliable ground game. The passing offense still seems a bit predicable and basic. Yes, he is limited by talent at the boundary but has plenty to work with otherwise. At the end of the day, we’ll have Josh Allen under center. That means we’ll be just fine. 1 Quote
stevestojan Posted yesterday at 12:08 AM Posted yesterday at 12:08 AM Glad he’s staying. Sends a message to the team at an important time. What I hate is that any of his time was spent in job interviews during this playoff run. Not his fault, but the process needs to change to where all teams have to wait until after the SB to start interviews. 1 Quote

H2o Posted yesterday at 12:09 AM Posted yesterday at 12:09 AM Glad to have our staff intact. Joe's concepts mesh well with the personnel we have. Josh also likes and trusts him. I think the entire offense is fired up by this news. 1 Quote
ColoradoBills Posted yesterday at 12:12 AM Posted yesterday at 12:12 AM Smart move by Brady. He will be in huge demand after 2 Super Bowl wins. 6 Quote
GaryPinC Posted yesterday at 12:16 AM Posted yesterday at 12:16 AM I think it's wise of him. You know he got promoted to OC on the fly last year, focused on that and settled in this year. Next year he can devote some time to learning the ropes of HC from McDermott so he's more prepared to hit the ground as a HC after next season. Quote

Chugga Posted yesterday at 12:23 AM Posted yesterday at 12:23 AM Love the fact that he’s staying. That being said it isn’t just because he loves the Bills. It’s also a zero risk situation. He is the OC for a team with a generational talent at QB. His offense isn’t going to randomly collapse and take him out of the running for jobs next year. The potential Bengals, Dolphins, and Falcons jobs are way more attractive than what he had left for options this year. More talented OCs should take the Ben Johnson approach and wait for an opening where your skills can shine. And maybe win a couple SBs as a coordinator in the meantime. 1 Quote
