I'm thrilled to have him back but at this point I honestly think it's the right thing for him personally.

 

I could maybe see the Bears with a young QB to mentor, cap space and picks. Heck I hate the Cowboys but competent HC work with a mid-tier starting QB could have worked.

 

But if the last seat is the Saints? They are $50 million over the cap with Derek Carr as their QB. That is, at best, a multi-year project. 

 

Next year has looming questions for the Colts, Browns, Seahawks, Cardinals, Panthers and Falcons. I think he'd have better luck there.

Great news and what I expected given the type of jobs that were open.  
 

Personally, I think he will be the Bengals new HC entering 2026 or possible the Bills new HC if Buffalo doesn’t at least reach the SB this year or next…but FWIW I fully expect to make the SB this year.

 

I have a hard time seeing Buffalo open up the new stadium without some change if we still haven’t gotten over the hump and played in the big game.

Local radio was talking about the hiring of Ben Johnson and wished there were T-shirts available that said "I HEART BJ" or "I LOVE BJ" to celebrate for Bears fans.  

We can turn that around and have our own "I LOVE JB" !  t-shirts !

Great news!  Improves our odds of reaching a Super Bowl next year and maybe making him next cycle’s Ben Johnson.  Would have a lot more leverage in getting a huge payday and control of operations.

It makes a difference.   Absolutely no way that a coach looking to move on doesn't change the team's attitude and relationship or at the very least a distraction.  DISTRACTION GONE !
