What do you mean handle it this way? How should they have handled it? I get it, you love how the guy plays, we all do…but at this point with his injuries clearly he is much more valuable for his mind than what he can actually do on the field Quote

So, what's the difference? Having him on the practice squad or as an assistant coach both means he isn't an active roster player. Quote

If he’s a coach and not a player just make him a coach and let someone else get prepped as an in case of emergency or for future development I get it, the last bench spot on the practice squad isn’t likely to matter but I think it’s silly to play play this game unless he’s genuinely on the depth chart 1 1 Quote

Time in the locker room, etc. Quote

Kaiir Elam is often a healthy scratch with us generally having Douglas, Benford, Johnson, Ingram, and Lewis (who's a CB and a Safety) active. If Benford is out, they'd have Elam active to go along with Ingram and Lewis to fill that role. We've never called up either Daequan Hardy or Te'Cory Couch all season when CB's were injured. And it wouldn't be any different here if Benford weren't playing. This is a good point. For some reason I didn't think they had enough CBs on the active roster but they do. Regardless, hopefully Benford's playing. 1 Quote

It was obvious when they called up both Kareem Jackson and Lewis Cine multiple times when Rapp and Hamlin were banged up. It was obvious when they didn't call him up in the last week of the year to get him some reps. And if you were holding out hope beyond that (which was misguided), it was obvious when they didn't call him up against Denver and Baltimore - when either could have been our last chance to. This was always about him helping along Cole Bishop in Practice, getting him in the locker room and sidelines for leadership and morale, and possibly getting him a ring as a rostered player for all that he did to get us to this point since 2017. I agree…still would have like him to play at NE week 18 Quote

EasternOHBillsFan Posted yesterday at 12:52 AM Posted yesterday at 12:52 AM Micah Hyde doesn't need to play to earn his value to this team... he has done that many times over and has obviously been helping the other players just like Von was when he was unable to play. Quote
PoundingDog Posted yesterday at 01:35 AM Posted yesterday at 01:35 AM McGovern has an injury on one of his arm I believe. Not impacting his availability but Clapp is the insurance. 1 Quote

Jackson has been with the team all season, played fine when called on earlier in the year, he is a big hitter and has 10+ years of NFL experience. He'll be fine. I'm just waiting on news about Benford. Edited yesterday at 01:38 AM by GASabresIUFan Quote

By you thinking he will means you’re either blinded by this optimism or you just didn’t pay attention when he signed. It’s not a wasted spot, he’s doing the exact thing he was brought in for Quote

It’s not a wasted spot, he’s doing the exact thing he was brought in for he could do it as an assistant coach then. Im not arguing whether or not he should play, im simply saying if he’s on the practice squad he should be fully on the depth chart. If he’s not in line to be available ever, put someone there that could contribute this year or next if you are getting a jersey then you need to be able to lace up cleats on Sunday- otherwise give him a polo and let him start his coaching career Quote
MikePJ76 Posted yesterday at 03:06 AM Posted yesterday at 03:06 AM I imagine they get 9 guys instead of 10 tomorrow on the D line. Elam has to be active because of the threat of injury again or issues from the concussion with Benford and no rapp. Jefferson being inactive and elam being active would seem to make sense tomorrow.
