Just Jack Posted January 25 Posted January 25 They have not renewed their lease yet, with one year left. The stadium opened in 2000. Quote The Bengals lease with Paycor Stadium, where the team plays its home games, is rapidly approaching its expiration, and according to Pro Football Talk, negotiations to get it renewed aren’t going well. ... If the two sides can’t come to a deal, there’s nothing for the Bengals to do other than pack up and leave town. Fans reacted to the news on social media. jcamm1966 Posted January 25 Posted January 25 I drive by it all the time , it's like the Browns stadium, problem it's right downtown, you basically park under a freeway to tailgate 2 1 1 Quote

It was the only dry place in town. I like downtown stadiums. The tailgating isn’t the same as OP, but what is? 5 2 Quote

He had to sell the naming rights to the stadium just to sign Borrow. There’s no way they are going to be willing or able to sign all the guys they will need to retain. 5 Quote
Utah John Posted January 25 Posted January 25 We put up with decades of mistakes because of a cheapskate owner, or rather an owner who listened to his bean counter instead of spending money he could afford to win more than 25% of the time. Ralph was a good soul but the biggest reason the early 90s Bills didn't win the last two Super Bowls is that they got completely outspent by Jerry Jones. So I feel sorry for the Cincinnati fans, who have some really good players but not the rest of the story. That is, I feel sorry for them if the Bengals aren't in the playoffs. 3 1 Quote

Beast Posted January 25 Posted January 25 One of these days people are going to stop being held hostage by sports teams. Seriously, what is wrong with that stadium? Keep it maintained and it should last 100 years. 2 2 1 Quote
dma0034 Posted January 25 Posted January 25 I do wonder where they'd play if they moved. Feeling for Cincy in that case since as bills fans we always used to hear about how the team could be moving away. Mike Brown really is a terrible owner 1 1 Quote
Low Positive Posted January 25 Posted January 25 The Bengals took Hamilton County to the cleaners in that stadium deal. All stadium deals are bad, but this one was extra special bad. The tax payers pay for everything and the team keeps all stadium revenue. The kicker is that the main negotiator for the county on that deal back in the late 90's resigned his position with the county to go work for the Bengals shortly after the stadium's opening. It's almost like he was negotiating a good deal for his future employers. City government corruption at it's finest. 1 1 2 Quote

Same with the Browns and HB Field. Great location to get in and out of and not reliant on price gouging parking. Scenes are awesome too if you want to wander around before the game kicks off. Candlestick Park was the same as Cleveland in that retrospect. 1 Quote

The City of Mason is already kicking in millions to refurbish the tennis facility. Quote

Yeah, when I hear it opened in 2000 I think wow that’s new, then I remember how old I am and realize it’s a quarter century. still not an OLD stadium though. People always want new now, never happy with a used TV or an iPhone from 3 years ago or a used car. It’s the social media generation I tell ya. Something needs to be done. everything I’ve ever had in life was once owned by someone else, my car, my wife, my refrigerator. You don’t hear me complaining ! 8 1 1 Quote

The problem isn't that it's 25 years old. The problem is that it was built as cheaply as possible 25 years ago. Kind of like the Sabres arena. 2 Quote
