Plus, the Pistons got old overnight.

The Chiefs don’t have that problem (even though Kelce is in his 35th year on this planet and that’s when MOST TE’s are either retired or washed up).

The Bills are going to have to be the better team to exorcise the demon.

The point is a path exists for this to be our dynasty for years to come and Allen to get into the GOAT conversation. It’s not too late. Not saying if I think that will happen or not but reminding ourselves the path still exists isn’t the worst thought.

Jordan didn't have to beat another player already on his level or better to get by the Pistons.   The Pistons played great team basketball and were coached well but it's not like they had Wilt, or LeBron.

Micheal would have whipped any team Lebron was on ! You talk about a over hyped player that has no commitment to any one or any team only a pay check OMG .

That being said I remember the Pistons being our KC and it took a bit fo rthe Bulls to get a couple of other good players to help MJ take over and who knows this could be the same type of situation for Josh .

GO BILLS !!!

You'll get no argument from me I can't stand LeBron.   Just an example.   My point is the Pistons didn't have the best or 2nd best player in the league at the time.  They were just a great basketball team with a lot of good team players.

I just have a hard time making a parallel in my head because as great as Josh is it's Michael Jordan.    I feel like people who didn't actually watch him don't have an idea what stratosphere he was in at his peak.

Love this comparison. Their trajectory toward best player in the league - getting to #1 well before public acknowledged it, losing to the same team in the playoffs - is eerily similar! MJ was a much better player at an earlier stage than Josh though.

Allen isn’t retiring to go play ball with the Savannah Bananas for 2 years.

8 Lombardi’s in a row….

I feel like I wouldn’t say he won’t try his hand

If Allen was truly dedicated, he shows up with a baldy tomorrow.

You're probably right, I can see Josh quitting football to play minor league baseball.

More likely to farm avocados or try his hand at acting.

I think the LeBron comparison is better overall and he also finally was able to beat teams that had beat him consistently.

Allen hasn't ever had the mental aspect to overcome in terms of LeBron not being able to post up JJ Barea, but Allen is so much closer in personality to LeBron than Jordan was...everyone loves Allen, not the case with Jordan...also Allen and LeBron were physically dominant, and I will say Allen did have a mental challenge to overcome as well, which he has this year so amazingly...not big play hunting and taking check downs.

Also, LeBron would physically impose his will on Jordan...and LeBron is a significantly better three point shooter (which he massively improved over his career)...I'd say a better Jordan comp would be Lamar Jackson honestly...and none of this is a knock against Jordan, I was a huge huge John Stockton fan... Jordan broke my heart several times...actually you could argue that Allen truly opened up his game when he began to play more like LeBron early in games, setting up teammates and picking his spots and then taking over in the 4th quarter...actually I always consider Chris Paul a good comp for what I hoped Allen's game would resemble in terms of setting up teammates early and then dominating in the clutch and key moments.
