I like Bishop in this game. He can certainly run with Kelce and has the size to try to take him away. Bishop's play has improved quite a bit imo.

Can you give examples of how his play has improved?

He came in Sunday for Rapp, did he do anything good in 2-1/2 quarters?

I thought Bills fans were dialed in, and yet I see Mika, Hide, and who knows whatever other spelling abominations lurk within

C’mon man, he’s only been with the team for 8 years

Rapp's best quality is that he's a homing missile.  I think Cole Bishop can adequately fill that role, just needs to not get beaten deep. It makes Worthy slightly more dangerous.

The Chiefs haven't been beating folks with explosive plays though.

Bishop and Hamlin would be the worst S pairing in the NFL. Hamlin had Andrews in man on the 2 point conversion. Good luck with Kelce. Not feeling good about this at all

Me? Not scared at all, we got this!

He was second to Cam Lewis among DB's in Pass coverage rating 66.0, gave up 1 catch for 5 yards in 2 targets, played 22 snaps on pass defense.

Tied with Taron in run defense with a 52.8 grade in 17 snaps.

Held his own I would say.

Ughhhhh man. I was loud all preseason about the Safety position - specifically Bishop - being my biggest concern. I haven't seen much improvement all year but I hope I'm wrong. 😬

Frankly, all the Bills safety’s have been beaten deep, pretty routinely this year.  I am not sure there is much difference between Rapp and Bishop there.  At least Bishop is fast. I am more concerned about intermediate zone reads in playing the less experienced Bishop in this spot.  I expect the Bills will have a plan to try and keep KC from exploiting this too much.  Hopefully Bishop can make a few plays.  Time to put the big boy pants on.

I put that more on Benford and has lack of recognition. His assignment crashed down on the line, tight into the muck of players. There was nowhere for that receiver to go to make himself available for Lamar. With his assignment’s first steps toward the OL, Benford should’ve stayed wide, but hesitated for a moment like he wasn’t sure where to go and that hesitation got Andrews open. If the communication was for Benford to always stay wide, don’t let anyone get outside of him, he makes that stop pretty easy. If the play was for the receiver Benford was covering, there’s no way he would’ve been able to stick with him anyway through the mess of bodies. Don’t let anyone out flank you!

Yeah I mean I don't break down all 22 or anything but he has been excellent in the run game going back to that Lions game and he hasn't gotten beat deep. He has not been the liability he was early in the season.

He was definitely slow on the switch but I also wonder how much field conditions had to do with the inability to plant a foot.

The biggest question is who is on Kelce? Do you go Bernard?

Biggest concern is Bishop/Hamlin getting beat deep, combined with using LB to cover Kelce, while also stopping the KC dumpoff to the RB. That will be KC game plan - Kelce over the middle, Worthy going deep varied with quick screens, and the RB safety valves. Bills need a plan for it all.

Thats not how atheltics work.

I think that's too narrow a take. I bet Hyde can hold up for one game (or spot duty in one game), and he's been in the building long enough to be up to speed with film and the game plan.

I don't expect it to happen, but I would activate him.

Well he did get torched for a TD against Tyrod and the Jets by Ty Conklin but if we want to just look the other way on that because it was late and who cares then fine.

He was freaking invisible against the Ravens.

according to McDermott

Time for Cole Bishop to show why he was drafted so high. It’s his 20th game. I’m hoping he’s learned something. Kelce is old, but him and Gray need to be accounted for. I hope they lay some shots on him over the middle
