Yeah, this is a culture reset, "right the ship" type of hire. Dude is 73. He better not be there 3 years from now.

Allegedly McCarthy to the Saints is his landing spot.  I think Brady would be crazy to take that job.  No QB, really bad salary cap, no extra picks.

I like the move.  I think he is a good coach for where they are at this point.

 

If not him, then tell me who else of some skill at the position was going to take THAT job.

Better choice than their last few hires.  As with most HC hires, he will only go as far as his QB will take him.

Someone should call Wade Phillips and suggest he take the New Orleans HC vacancy.  Carroll is gaining on Phillips in the category 'Most NFL Teams Coached'. 😁

If they were willing to hire Pete then they would have definitely hired Bill. Strange that he would take the UNC job if he could coach in the NFL. He must not have wanted it. Probably Brady being his "boss" had something to do with it.
