CowgirlsFan Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Not impressed. I'm just glad the speculation is over and someone is hired. I don't expect much change. 1 Quote

You seem a bit traumatized and just managing Cowboys reality as best you can. My sympathies 🧡 At least you still have Us 👍 1 Quote
Big Turk Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Now they hired Arizona OL coach to be the new OC... I mean this is embarrassing now. They might have the worst coaching staff in the NFL at this point 1 Quote

If you think McCarthy was underwhelming and wanted a change, this move makes zero sense. Other than his years in Seattle, I’m with you on the not impressed train. Quote

Almost everything else they do is stupid. 1 Quote

Other than his years in Seattle, I’m with you on the not impressed train. I married a Cowboys fan and it made me break down my wall of hate for that team... which was no easy task. We were just talking about it last night. We hated the McCarthy hire when it was announced, have waited all this time for them to move on, only to hear Jerry Jones talk about "keeping some consistency" while announcing the much-less-than-spectacular Schottenheimer hire. Combine that with bringing in Eberflus, who just ran himself out of Chicago, her hopes are not high for the future. You hit the nail on the head... Cowboys fans wanted a change and while there's a new name on the door, this isn't the change they were hoping for. It reminds me of the Bills during the drought. After Phillips, we went through some real lemons, and each had to be given multiple years to prove they weren't the guy. If you dislike the Cowboys - and I know most of us do - the grass is looking pretty green in that direction. 1 Quote

I can’t feel bad as they’re the Cowboys but after what you pointed out it’s a let down for fans. They have talent on that roster to be successful so maybe Schott proves everyone wrong? Quote

I hated that team with the intensity of a thousand suns after 1992, much less anything after. But we married and eventually I found myself pulling for Tony Romo as I watched him grow up, only to have his body fail him when everything clicked. If the team hadn't been off to that super hot start during Dak's rookie season (Romo hurt collarbone again in preseason), I feel Tony Romo could have won a Super Bowl for them. We'll never know. Neither she nor myself think Dak is the guy, he's just paid like he is. They have no running game and lots to do on offense. Defensively, they've seemed rudderless since the departure of Quinn. If Parsons leaves Dallas, I think Washington is where he'll be tempted to go. With the talent in that division, the Boys have a lot to do before they become relevant again. The wife feels someone would have given Schott a chance already if he was leadership material. 1 Quote
TheFunPolice Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Their job is to tank the season and deliver Arch Manning to the Cowboys and the new coaching staff next spring. It's crazy really... Losing a few meaningless September games that make the difference between 3-14 or 5-12 could mean 15+ years of being a top team. Assuming of course the QB is good. Quote

Do the level headed fans find it weird that the rest chastise and bemoan Romo on his career there? I always found that bizarre given his journey to the pros. He wasn’t the greatest by all means but definitely a quality QB. Can’t disagree that they tripped up too many times in the playoffs though, sucks for them. Not every one else lol. Not a huge fan of Dak but they can certainly do worse. Like you pointed out, for him a sustainable and successful running game is key. In a lot of ways he’s similar to Goff in terms of guys in the league right now; at his absolute best when you’re able to run play action. What’s the consensus there for Parsons? Is he staying? Do they regret the contracts being dished out the way they had, with him potentially last if so? Quote
tigerthelion Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Am I the only person here to think that Parsons is overrated and not worth thr trouble? I could be way off base, but that is my gut feeling. Quote

I could be way off base, but that is my gut feeling. His skillset definitely isn’t overrated, but there were whispers that his act was wearing on guys in the locker room. He’s got a different type of personality. I don’t think he’d be a problem with a winning team though. Quote Micah Parsons has “worn thin” within Dallas Cowboys organization, per report Despite his superstar status in the NFL, Micah Parsons’ days with the Dallas Cowboys may soon be numbered. That is, at least, according to Shan Shariff of 105.3 The Fan in Dallas, who spoke during his radio show Friday about discussions he’s had with those around the organization. “I’ve heard from way too many people this offseason,” he said. “I’m talking about at least four different people [who have told me] that Micah has worn thin there.” The Harrisburg native has been a force since entering the NFL, winning Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2021, making three Pro Bowls, and earning first-team All-Pro honors in two of his three seasons. But that high-level production is apparently not enough for some to want to keep Micah Parsons in Dallas long-term. “I don’t know how much is true and how much it actually hurts [Parsons’ reputation],” Shariff continued. “I don’t know whether this is the behavior of a typical superstar. I don’t how damaging it is. But all I do know is this – I’ve heard from way too many people that if Micah Parsons was out of there, there would be a decent amount of people inside the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco smiling or breathing a sigh of relief.” https://basicbluesnation.com/penn-state-football-news-behavior-of-micah-parsons-may-be-driving-wedge-in-cowboys-locker-room/ Quote
