Remember when this guy spurned the Bills to "finish the job" with the Jets?

This is a Jason Garrett type hire. I expect Jason Garrett type results.

Yes, as I recall Brian Schottenheimer actually refused to even interview with the Bills altogether.   It was a real nut blow to the ego of many on TSW who hadn't fully accepted what a sh!t job it had become.   Ralph's reputation preceded him at that point and at the same time it was a surprise they would even talk to a Schottenheimer because apparently Ralph had nothing but hatred for Marty over something that happened when Marty was playing with the Bills.

Seems like Jerry is saving pennies until he passes the team along to his son.

Strippers, hush money, and lawyers don't come cheap, dontcha know...

You mean the fact that Marty was a giant douche from the word go?

The crazy part of Jerry is they have a ton of talent, he spends money, and is very loyal to coaches. I don’t get why at this point of his life, the crypt keepers doesn’t just pay for a top coach.

They have shiny baubles, they don't have a solid team. It's been a hallmark of Jerry's entire post JJ tenure.

Not the only franchise that's been deep-sixed by a horrible owner, but probably the biggest.

Hard to believe Jerrah's incredible run of having a yes-man for a HC since 2007.  Looks like he'll make it to 20 years with this hire.

they elevated the architect of that crappy Defense?  lol.

Jerry's main failure as GM has been, now with roster building, but with the HC position.  Once he fired Jimmy Johnson, he was doomed to make only bad HC decisions as his punishment.  This continues.

probably the only coach who would accept being told he had to hire Jason Witten as OC and "HC in waiting" when the guy has only coached HS ball.

Imagine being told that if you accept the HC role the owner is going to hire your OC for you, and he's  a high school football coach who the owner likes cause he's a great guy and used to play there....

Oh and BTW, he's "the HC in waiting" (for when you fail I guess?)

LOL

Word is Rex Ryan might be the DC there. I really hope so!

How else you gonna chase that glory hole?

Good stuff, the dysfunction continues.  Jerrah is his own worst enemy. I wonder if it galls him that his ex-DC is now with Washington and having more success than his Cowboys have seen in a long long time?

Because usually, when one hires a retread, it's a guy with a solid track record. Brian Schottenheimer is the opposite of that. He's been mediocre to terrible everywhere he's been.

Same could be said of Brian Daboll … and then Josh Allen happened. He got his shot and here we are … back to mediocre to terrible.

Almost like it wasn't him that was good. Weird. Brady was at least good somewhere in the past.

I'm sure it pisses him off to no end.

I don't think you'll ever see a game again in life where a team turns the ball over 9 times.

I was so pissed that night.

There were many turnovers in the Jim Kelly era, especially in the playoffs. Between the fumbles and interceptions it’s mind blowing.
