There has not been one thing he has done to justify him being a head coach besides be the right sperm.

He hasn't been a head coach, though. So he isn't exactly a head coach retread, but I can see what you mean.

 

Honestly, most new head coaches fail, even when they were great coordinators. The job is just so different than coordinating. Maybe he is a good leader and motivator and he can hire coordinators who are good play callers. Maybe it will work? I guess we'll see.

This reminds of a Drought Era coaching hire.  You hear all of these hopeful names tossed around but in the end they hire Dick Jauron or Chan Gailey.
