Are they just trying to make it right?  Clearly should of gotten it last year.  I guess he did comeback as a starter and impact player.

Honestly, even though he folded at the end of the year Sam Darnold should get the award IMO.

I think Hamlin is more deserving of it this year than last. I feel like this season is his true comeback season.

he came back, and then some.

I seriously can’t believe he started every game for us. Just an unreal success story.

I think they changed the philosophy behind it to  be closer to ‘guys coming back from major injuries and stuff like that’. They didn’t want it to be about ‘guys that sucked for awhile and were suddenly good’

so burrow who’s always good but was injured will very likely get it over Darnold

I thought they changed the rule that a player has to come back from something, or something like that?  Looking at the list, I think Damar should have gotten it last year even though he wasn't starter. To me Darnold had the biggest turnaround. Dude went from a Jets bust seeing ghosts to finishing 14-2.

I’m not 100% sure on this but I think the voting is you pick 5 guys for each award that you rank 1-5 and each ranking is worth different points. the ‘finalists’ are probably the top 5 point getters.  So it might be a ‘hmm who do I write in for number 5…oh yea that damar Hamlin Hamlin guy from last year’ thing where he is a mile behind these other guys but still technically in the top 5

I fully expect Joe B to walk away with this one.

He was been cosidered as MVP but as the Bengals fail to make it to the playoffs we was never going to get it. But CPOY is HIS!

As if the criteria for MVP wasn’t vague enough, I’d argue Comeback Player is even worse.

There’s no way Flacco should have won over Damar last season.

This year, I get the feeling it’s going to go to Sam Darnold.  Based on the voting, it seems more of a Most Improved Player award

What did he come back from?  Tips that were unfrosted?  Yes he was injured but it was a “normal” injury, nothing like what Dobbins had to overcome much less Damar.

Darnold obviously has a big shot.  He came back from sucking.  More of a “most improved” than a comeback IMO.

They need to give the comeback award to Kim Kardashian.

You’re right. I saw that video, and she definitely did…multiple times!

I remember reading that too which leads me to believe Darnold won’t win.

What is Darnold doing in the mix? He didn't come back from injury or anything else, he just finally stopped sucking.

I feel like voters voted him as their number 2 just for a little recognition even though it’s not supposed to be what the award is about anymore and burrow will definitely win it…we’ll see though I guess

I think it should be Dobbins honestly.  That guy has had a major injury every single year in this league until now and performed very well.  OK, so he missed a few weeks with an injury again, but for him that’s very good!  😆

They clarified that it is not an award that means coming back from sucking. It is supposed to be coming back from injuries or illnesses.

And yet voters will still vote the way they want to. The fact that he's even nominated with these new rules should tell you something.
