The people running the NFL certainly are not stupid. They have created one of the most successful entertainment products in the world.  This entertainment is built on the foundation of a very exciting sport, football.  But the entertainment piece extends far past that; pre-game shows, post-game shows, gambling tie-ins, on field and off field political messaging, and even cross-promotions with Taylor Swift. I think nearly 100% of the people who post on this forum, actually are mostly interested in the games themselves, whether they are attending in person or watching on TV.

Regarding the games themselves there seems to be increasingly legitimate concerns about competetive balance, particularly concerns with officiating, but including other areas like scheduling and opaque draft compensation formulas.

If they NFL were to ask you what should we ask of fans, what would your survey questions be.  Some of mine would be:

  1. do you think the officiating is fair?
  2.  What, if any rules do you think should be eliminated?
  3.  What, if any rules do you think should be added?
  4.  what, if any rules do you think should be changed?
  5.  Does legal NFL gambling make the games more enjoyable for you?
  6.  How much does NFL gambling make you concerned about the games integrity?
  7.  Do you prefer the traditional or dynamic kickoff rules?
  8.  should the draft order rules be changed to avoid encouraging teams to "tank"?
  9. Should pre-season games be eliminated?
  10. How many teams should make the playoffs?
  11. Should the current unbalanced scheduling methodolgy be maintained, or should the schedules be more balanced? IE teams no longer play division opponents twice, removing the advantage of playing in a crappy division (arguably a key component of the patriots long run of success)

NOTE: I would expect all questions have as a choice, "I don't care".

I am hoping mostly to compile a giant list of questions, rather than get feedback on answers to specific questions.  What questions would you like fans to be asked?

Once we have a giant list of questions, we can wittle it down to a few key questions, and survey ourselves.

This will never happen ! They don't want to here what the fans have to say they just want to be as deep as they can i your wallet and will do what ever they see fit to make as much money as they possibly can .

Example ; wanting to have 16 games played over seas every year which takes revenue and a game away from the home city and it's fans, all in the name of mo money mo money mo money !!!

Which in the end may make them more cash but IMHO will hurt the game because although i am only 1 i will never support those games ! Every thing else in this country has been shipped over seas let them come here and spend the money .

The airlines would prosper, the hotels, restaurants, ubers, cabs, would all prosper which makes things better for the the home teams but they don't care about that as long as Roger and the owners can keep the Billions flowing into their bank accounts, but it's nice to dream i guess .

People that allow little yellow flags for nudging a Star Quaterback can not be trusted. Fix that than I might help you with a survey.

the game day experience is not a big thing for the league - only the teams. The game day has become a festival experience with a football game vs. a football game with a party surrounding it.

Why the heck would they open that can of worms, when they control to issue/narrative in private boardrooms. They have nothing to gain and little incentive. They are more profitable than ever and they can tweak rules at the competition committee in private in a way that benefits the NFLPA and their bottom line the most.

The only thing I think they'll want to adjust are video replays that have bad optics and incite their fan base. They are not including us in that discussion, knowledge is power and corporate America likes a good ignorant (but committed) fan base.
