Should the NFL do a consumer product survey of its customers (fans)?

I'm sure that the NFL has a market research company regularly conduct surveys that capture fans' opinions on most of the topics on the list.

I wonder what the National appetite is for 18-games and a gauge on this kickoff.

I have no desire to watch more regular season, adding more Playoff teams.

Also, I really can't get behind another rule modification that allows teams to watch a ball sail through the end zone and get the ball further up the field than the 30-yard line. It's already to the point where one completion puts you at midfield.

For all the comments about ratings, every business tracks sales. Yet many businesses take time to ask the question "can we do better?"

As long as the networks and streaming services are still competing and trying to out-bid each other for TV rights, that is all the research the NFL needs to do.

I'm sure they have some Marketing folks doing consumer/market research. But for the money coming in, they dont need to go too deep.

Crikey, no. Why would I ask fans these questions? The NFL administration isn't perfect but if here and twitter are anything to go by most fans' ideas are even worse!

the results are in from the survey:

ratings are up on networks  (an whopping 17+ million viewers...per game)--plus games were broadcast by 4 different streaming companies.

revenues continue to climb, as do ticket prices....and stadiums still sell out.

the NFL is more popular--as is--as it has ever been.  More than ever, it dominates all other major pro leagues---combined.   NHL is long ago irrelevant, baseball is clearly headed there and the NBA is unwatchable, ratings down.

People that allow little yellow flags for nudging a Star Quaterback can not be trusted. Fix that than I might help you with a survey.

This kind of worries me a bit, on One Bills Live yesterday they said that the ref chosen for this game throws more flags on average through out the season than a lot of the others i don't believe that he was number 1 for penalties but i think he is in the top 5 so the Bills will not only once again have to beat the team but also the refs .

And that SUCKS !!!

The uninformed can call me a boomer (although I'm at the gen x/millennial border) but I feel like the product was better long ago.  The only rule change I can get behind is not allowing John Lynch style headhunting.

I feel like coaches and players still would have advanced.  Nowdays kids are getting coaching, tutorials, fitness, etc that used to be reserved for high end college or pros.

The NFL certainly does a lot of market research. I'm afraid that the results are just probably things we don't like that the 'poor officiating' isn't costing them money or causing fans to stop watching.

They don’t care what we think outside of viewership and retail store sales,

I think revenue is their survey.
