Chaos Posted yesterday at 01:29 PM Posted yesterday at 01:29 PM (edited) The people running the NFL certainly are not stupid. They have created one of the most successful entertainment products in the world. This entertainment is built on the foundation of a very exciting sport, football. But the entertainment piece extends far past that; pre-game shows, post-game shows, gambling tie-ins, on field and off field political messaging, and even cross-promotions with Taylor Swift. I think nearly 100% of the people who post on this forum, actually are mostly interested in the games themselves, whether they are attending in person or watching on TV. Regarding the games themselves there seems to be increasingly legitimate concerns about competetive balance, particularly concerns with officiating, but including other areas like scheduling and opaque draft compensation formulas. If they NFL were to ask you what should we ask of fans, what would your survey questions be. Some of mine would be: do you think the officiating is fair? What, if any rules do you think should be eliminated? What, if any rules do you think should be added? what, if any rules do you think should be changed? Does legal NFL gambling make the games more enjoyable for you? How much does NFL gambling make you concerned about the games integrity? Do you prefer the traditional or dynamic kickoff rules? should the draft order rules be changed to avoid encouraging teams to "tank"? Should pre-season games be eliminated? How many teams should make the playoffs? Should the current unbalanced scheduling methodolgy be maintained, or should the schedules be more balanced? IE teams no longer play division opponents twice, removing the advantage of playing in a crappy division (arguably a key component of the patriots long run of success) NOTE: I would expect all questions have as a choice, "I don't care". I am hoping mostly to compile a giant list of questions, rather than get feedback on answers to specific questions. What questions would you like fans to be asked? Once we have a giant list of questions, we can wittle it down to a few key questions, and survey ourselves. Edited 21 hours ago by Chaos 4 1 1 Quote

GunnerBill Posted yesterday at 04:16 PM Posted yesterday at 04:16 PM Crikey, no. Why would I ask fans these questions? The NFL administration isn't perfect but if here and twitter are anything to go by most fans' ideas are even worse! 1 2 2 Quote

Once we have a giant list of questions, we can wittle it down to a few key questions, and survey ourselves. This will never happen ! They don't want to here what the fans have to say they just want to be as deep as they can i your wallet and will do what ever they see fit to make as much money as they possibly can . Example ; wanting to have 16 games played over seas every year which takes revenue and a game away from the home city and it's fans, all in the name of mo money mo money mo money !!! Which in the end may make them more cash but IMHO will hurt the game because although i am only 1 i will never support those games ! Every thing else in this country has been shipped over seas let them come here and spend the money . The airlines would prosper, the hotels, restaurants, ubers, cabs, would all prosper which makes things better for the the home teams but they don't care about that as long as Roger and the owners can keep the Billions flowing into their bank accounts, but it's nice to dream i guess . 2 Quote
HOUSE Posted yesterday at 04:40 PM Posted yesterday at 04:40 PM People that allow little yellow flags for nudging a Star Quaterback can not be trusted. Fix that than I might help you with a survey. 1 1 1 Quote

thronethinker Posted yesterday at 04:51 PM Posted yesterday at 04:51 PM (edited) They do, it's called ratings. Ratings good, no change. Ratings bad, change is coming. Edited yesterday at 04:51 PM by thronethinker 2 Quote
Ballhawk Posted yesterday at 04:57 PM Posted yesterday at 04:57 PM Why the heck would they open that can of worms, when they control to issue/narrative in private boardrooms. They have nothing to gain and little incentive. They are more profitable than ever and they can tweak rules at the competition committee in private in a way that benefits the NFLPA and their bottom line the most. The only thing I think they'll want to adjust are video replays that have bad optics and incite their fan base. They are not including us in that discussion, knowledge is power and corporate America likes a good ignorant (but committed) fan base. 1 3 Quote

Beast Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago They’re taking our money faster than we can give it to them and we’re asking them if we can give them more. Why would they need to do a survey? All is completely perfect in their eyes. 1 1 Quote
BillsPride12 Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago I can assure you the NFL doesn't give a hoot what the fans think as long as they are making money 2 Quote

Because they want to make money. But they don't need to do a survey to know what fans think. Edited 12 hours ago by MJS Quote
vanhalen26 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago My biggest pet peeve is flexing games, especially when they move days. Total disrespect for fans who plan months ahead and book flights and hotels. 1 Quote
BarleyNY Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I did get a survey about 10 years ago from the NFL. It was a phone survey that for some reason I took. They started by asking general questions about my watching habits and opinions on of different sports leagues. NFL was last and they started drilling down into deeper questions. Then they started asking about Goodell specifically and my opinions on him. It made me realize that I thought he was doing a pretty good job overall, but was very unlikable, and I answered the questions that way. Fast forward a few months and we have the NFL draft. It was the one where Goodell joked around and hugged pretty much every first round pick. I guess he took my feedback to heart. 1 Quote
