FireChans Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago (edited) So Jacksonville They fire their HC, try to conduct interviews with good HC candidates with the contingency that Baakle stays (which of course limits their pool considerably) then fire Baalke after missing out on everyone lol. Brutal. Jags gonna Jag. Edited 22 hours ago by FireChans 1 1 2 1 1 Quote
VaMilBill Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Late in the game. Wondering if they did that realizing no one wanted to take the HC job with Baalke there. Quote
boco357 Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago What would make them make that move? Doesnt seem like Saleh would demand that. Unless they are going after Belichick or something. Quote

T.E. Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Heard some insider recently say that he has a reputation as being a "corporate politician" type who manages to survive during bad times when everyone else in the front office and coaching staff is getting canned. Was he as good at this as Russ Brandon? Likely not, but you still don't want to work for a guy like that. 1 Quote

Unless they are going after Belichick or something. I dont think Saleh would demand it, per se. But he (or someone else) may have questioned the stability of the organization and the constant turmoil of having your HC and GM hires offset. It's why Ross is giving Grier one more year in Miami, so he can fire Grier and McDaniel at the same time next year. Quote
H2o Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago This seems like another job that Joe Brady should say, "Thanks, but no thanks," to. 1 Quote
Buffalo_Stampede Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago This makes the Jags job more attractive. Not sure if Brady will be interested. Quote
Cheektowaga Chad Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago If the jags had done this three weeks ago, they would have gotten any coach they wanted 1 Quote
GunnerBill Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago I think this might make it less likely Brady. Saleh is really tight with the owner. I think he might have the influence to get the GM fired. I doubt Brady does but maybe. 2 Quote
Ridgewaycynic2013 Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Baalke was told he would have to wear a bowler hat and carry an umbrella on the next London trip. He said "Eff that!", and that was that. 😁 2 Quote

Steptide Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago My guess is whoever they wanna hire, probably wants to bring in their own gm. I don't think this is that big of a deal. They probably know who they're hiring as hc 1 Quote

Doc Brown Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago 2 hours ago, DrDawkinstein said: Hopefully this type of chaos keeps Joe Brady away He and other candidates may have requested the firing. Who knows. Brady's from Florida. The Jags have a lot of young talent on both sides of the ball. They have a decent amount of draft capital and salary cap space to build the trenches. The question any potential coach has to ask themselves is can I get Trevor Lawrence to the player he's being paid to be. Quote
ganesh Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Does this mean Gray and Brady may be in line for the GM and HC job there ? 1 Quote
Charles Romes Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago That one foot in the UK is not a good look, and it has to be exhausting on the organization. One of the best things Terry did when he bought the team was to immediately end that dumb Toronto series. Quote
