I didn't know Rochester even had an airport..........are they still using the old bi-planes?

oddly enough, rochester has one of the best small market airports...https://10best.usatoday.com/awards/travel/best-small-airport-2024/

everything is newly updated, clean and efficient.  the state just keeps giving the money for improvement, so they keep upgrading.  i love flying in and out of it due to ease...it's just expensive.

If you're anywhere near the game wait until the last minute to go and buy tickets. If you're within three or four hours you'll be able to wake up that morning and say screw it I can spend $200 on a good ticket.

The cost of these tickets is going to drop dramatically. They're over 2500 resale tickets still available right now, and I estimate 1500 face value tickets.

When resale value tickets are less than the face value tickets there's going to be a major falling off.

You will be able to get into this game for less than $150, you'll be able to move up lower bowl for less than $150.

What I'm saying is if you want to go:

Buy tickets as cheap as possible

Wait until the first quarter and buy an upgraded ticket

Wow!  Very surprising to see so many 100 sections available.  Yeeesh.  I'd be embarrassed if I was a KC fan.

Very expensive… although not quite at the same price levels as what the Bills were scalping their own tickets for ;)

It's tough to sell 70k tickets in 3 days.

The NFL mandates that tickets go up for sale to playoff games in December. These tickets have been available for quite some time.  It is exceptionally troublesome that the Chiefs have had to lock on the number one seed for over a month at the end of the season and their fans did not want to buy these tickets.

That is absolutely pathetic. But then again this fan base is about as fair weather as they come short of the 20% die hard folks out there

The Rochester airport is one of the nicest I've ever been too. They did a huge upgrade a few years ago and did a fantastic job

Owners need to think long and hard about how current technology and stadium pricing across the board makes staying home to watch the game a very attractive option. I'm not sure how some teams without a tailgating culture even consistently sell out - that seems to be the one benefit to regularly attending in person.

I think people age out of tailgating.

If it were up to me (and this is my own preference) i would probably want to watch this game from the comfort of my own couch........i can pause the game and get up and go for a beer whenever i want, i can rewind/replay all of the horrible ref calls against us, etc.

To me, this has "couch game" written all over it.

Also, i can lock myself in my office at home and have a good cry with no one around to hear.......................................................................don't judge me.

just checked chiefs ticketmaster. here's the lowest current prices per ticket (all include taxes/fees):

lowers

between the 40s: $1200

30-40 yd line: $900

goal line-30 yd line (avg): $775

corners: $600

end zone: $535

club

between the 40s: $2000+

30-40 yd line: $1750

goal line-30 yd line (avg): $1600

corners: $1250

endzone: $1050

uppers

you can find seats as low as $330. but these are mostly confined to corners in the upper rows and arrowhead is a huge stadium (4th largest capacity in the nfl) so those are not great seats. for low-row uppers in good locations you're likely spending above $500/seat.

Stupidity is what I see there....as we know the NFL sets ticket prices. If I decided to take my 3 sons at $330/ticket, it's $1320 then I have to figure adding transportation & hotels/eats. The NFL is losing the common fan.

Tailgating & bringing a TV & generator is very much in play everywhere. Our entertainment dollars are stretched thin

They probably are over mere AFC Championship games and have turned their focus on the Super Bowl. First world fanbase problems.

That place is going to have a lot of Bills fans...I think it will be shocking to the announcers and television audience how much our presence will be felt.

New York State taxpayers money...it's free!

They did the same thing in Corning/Elmira. Spent $30M+ to upgrade an airport with 2-3 working gates (out of 4).
At least Rochester has a real airport.

Yeah, I fly a lot for work and for a smaller city airport Rochester now has one of the better ones.

It is the natural progression of fans in a successful market.  Hottest ticket in town when you have a deprived fan base.  After 7 straight AFC Championship Games, it loses its luster.  I remember thinking 10 years ago that wild horses would have to keep me away from a Bills home playoff game.  This year, I was looking for excuses to get out of the Broncos game (I ended up going).   A home AFC Championship would be insane... but if the Bills appeared in the next 6.... Im not sure I would be in such a hurry to spend hundreds of dollars on a ticket (honestly probably still would).

I remember the Atlanta Braves' fans were on like gangbusters when the franchise pulled out of their funk around 1990.  Later, they werent selling out playoff games.  The Detroit Red Wings were mocked too as "hockeytown", but had trouble selling out the longer their dynasty rolled on.

They've probably reach a saturation point.  It doesn't indict them as fans. Remember, the comeback game didn't sell out. Plus, it's on TV no matter what.  Hope we have this problem someday.

just checked rochester to kc.  for one adult ticket it starts at $750 and most are in the $880 range.  There are a number of tickets that go above 1 thousand, but $800-ish seems accurate.

Same pricing from Phoenix to KC, other than for football,  who wants to fly to kc in January?
