I saw an interview with him and he said he was looking up at the scoreboard as he ran and saw the Ravens players coming up behind him and knew he had to hold on tight to the ball.

I think they mistakenly believe they’re gonna win certain 1 on 1 matchups on the dline so there’s no way what the bills are doing to these other teams can happen to them then it happens to them lol.  The ravens looked really caught off guard by it as well.  Some execution issues late on our part in the running game saved them from getting run right out of the building imo.

 

we make a big deal about ‘oh this scheme was bad that playcall was bad’ but at the end of the day sometimes your guys just get beat by who they’re lined up against

He was watching his own pursuit on the Jumbotron? That's the first time I've heard of someone doing that and it's brilliant. Giant rear view mirror!

Great observation.  I was thinking to myself on Sunday that he looks like something/someone familiar but it never came to me until you pointed it out now!

It's fairly common.  I've seen players on "breakaway" runs look up at the board before.  Leon Lett was not one of them (or maybe they didn't have the same kinds of scoreboards in those days).

Sure they do, but what #17 can do with the ball is truly frightening so they want him stopped and will take their chances on the ground game.  It's not like their defense played badly and Ravens were right there at the end.

Very slight, almost no delay, to the stadium scoreboards. Pretty much real time.
