I wonder how they cover him early ? Bernard ? Johnson ? If they’re able to limit Kelce for the first time in 4 games, it will go a long way to winning. I don’t think Mahomes trusts Brown, Smith-Shuster or even DHop downfield when he starts running around. Look at how many receptions the other receivers had against Houston. 1 Quote
TheFunPolice Posted Friday at 09:31 PM Posted Friday at 09:31 PM I was surprised that the Ravens didn't run Lamar more. IMO that is the same mistake they made vs KC last year. 1 1 Quote

We played a tight, conservative game the whole game. That was the plan. The difference in the 3rd quarter was execution. The plays were there to be made. On the first series, Kincaid was wide open and Allen threw a bad pass. Yeah, Kincaid should have caught it but that pass was ass for a guy who was WIDE OPEN On the 2nd series, Allen correctly alerted to the Knox screen. Why Knox was the target IDK, but that was the alert call in the huddle. Ravens were blitzing from that side. Knox screwed it up by running inside when he had blockers to the outside. Also, no one blocked Van Noy from the opposite side of the line. Poor execution. If you watched Hard Knox, the Ravens game plan was to take away the intermediate to deep passes and “plastering” the receivers on scrambles. They ran a LOT of Tampa 2 and Cover 3 (According to Marino and Cover 1) which basically doubles both your outside receivers. So where’s the beef? With the run game and short passes over the middle which is where we went. It was the perfect game specific game plan and it worked. Yeah, with a few better play calls and better execution it would have been a blow out but it wasn’t. Who cares. We are in the AFC Championship game. Everyone saying “we need to open it up” doesn’t understand the offensive philosophy. You take what the defense gives you. If KC loads the box you can bet we will look to throw it more. If we needed to, Josh would have opened it up against the Ravens. He never needed to because we were playing ball control especially in the 4th with a lead. Yeah, it got too close for comfort but we were playing probably the most talented team in the AFC who was peaking at the right time and we won. The biggest difference from last year to this year is that we are having an awesome stable of RBs who can rush as well as catch the ball and take it upfield. Cook, Davis and Johnson have been terrific and it has made a huge difference. Go Bills !!! 1 Quote

Seems dubious to me, but they seem to have convinced themselves of it. Quote

McGovern at C is better than Morse, and Brown has developed into a stud at RT. In listening to the media, it seems that most analysts haven't even considered the Bills running game being a weapon at all. If they could run against the Ravens, they can probably run against the Chiefs unless Spagnulo is willing to sell out to stop the run. 1 Quote

They just randomly decided to not run Lamar and I just don't get it 1 Quote
BigAl2526 Posted yesterday at 04:16 AM Posted yesterday at 04:16 AM I think it was a strategy Brady cooked up specifically for the Baltimore game based on what the Bills experienced during the regular season game versus the Ravens plus the weather conditions. I don't expect the Bills to go crazy on offense versus the Chiefs. I do expect more in the way of balance. I think Josh will get the ball to some receivers who haven't seen much action lately. Quote

Utah John Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago The Bills had a lead at halftime and I think they just tried out the slower offense to see whether the Ravens could respond by taking the lead. The defense made some drive-stopping plays and the Ravens never got the lead. If the Ravens had been ore successful, I think the Bills would have gone back to the first half plan. I'm actually all in favor of the Bills crossing up the opponent by changing tactics. Most teams show you what they're going to do, and stick with it. The Bills had a Plan 1B and the Ravens weren't able to come up with a response on the fly. Quote

In the playoffs take the 5-9 if open. Need explosives but when they are there. Offense has been very impressive. I dont care about a laser show. Win the game. Allen has that gear. Less amount of times its needed the better. Let a defense load the box and run blitz. Please do. Have you, or anyone here noticed Josh's long passes have improved generally ? Some real darts and soft touches to drop into the bucket. Josh still does those hard no arc overthrows. But thats expected. Hope the find and or set up a few shots that put kc on their heels a bit and then go back to the run/ screen toss lol Love how he and the Team have grown this years especially love the bolded !
