without a drought Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I can see Glenn doing a good job on his 2nd head coaching stint. 3 Quote

Ben's last job/game with his "creativity in playcalling" imo, helped the Lions lose. He was trying to hard to be "special". His team turned over 5 times and still scored 31 points. You can put the Jameson Williams interception on his play calling, but losing 45-31 isn’t really on the OC. 1 Quote

IMO It should be the opposite. That's the worst way to do it. That is how you incentivize (force) companies to hire unqualified people, just to get the reward. Instead the league is rewarding the teams who gave the minority candidate a foot in the door, and helped develop them into a HC/GM candidate. It's about expanding your hiring pool, opening doors, and providing opportunity. From there, it's up to the person to earn it himself. 1 hour ago, DrDawkinstein said: The league is doing well to incentivize giving these guys opportunities, while not incentivizing hiring lesser qualified coaches. Rewarding the team that helped get their foot in the door and developed them. Not rewarding teams just for checking a box. Good way to do it, and fair to everyone. Quote
BigAl2526 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I don't think the Jets' ownership is terribly patient. The team is a mess right now. Presumably, Aaron Rodgers is gone. He was never the answer anyway. It's not a great draft for QBs this year and the Jets are not in a position to get one of the top two QBs. The free agents aren't going to be much better. The defensive personnel are good, but they are not enough to help the Jets escape the pit of mediocrity. My guess is that Glenn will get a couple years (despite a 5 year contract, during which the Jets will struggle to win 8 or 9 games. The owner will get impatient and Glenn will be gone. It will go that way until somehow the Jets can find a long term answer at QB. I love it. Quote

Gregg Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Tom Pelissero on X: "With the #Jets finalizing their expected deal with Aaron Glenn to be their head coach, the team now plans to proceed to additional second interviews for their GM job, per sources. Lance Newmark was in the building with Glenn on Monday and others remain under consideration." / X Quote

Mister Defense Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Nice! Really like this move, but any head coach for the Jersey jets is likely to be a good one for the Bills with as dysfunctional an owner and organization as they have. Now, let us all cross our fingers, and any other body parts we can cross, so soon we can hear the magic words we all should be rooting for: "The Jets have decided to bring back aaron rodgers for the 2025 season." Fingers, toes, eyes..?..all crossed. Please let this happen Quote
