Jets give Lions DC Aaron Glenn a 5 year contract to become HC(per Schefter)

Everything you read is that he is beloved in Detroit. That defense was dismayed by the end of the season and the Jets have better pieces. 
 

Will be interesting to see what direction they go with Qb/ OC.  Glenn could be the best culture guy on earth but if they don’t figure out the offense, it won’t matter.

Talk about a guy who gotten shafted. Gets one year in Arizona with a rookie qb (and they pick another one the next year); gets Carolina to .500 as an interim head coach, and gets fired after being the SB DC for 49ers (and they have a worse defense this year and his replacement gets fired).

Probably true but “people” really like Glenn. DC types makes me nervous because it’s all about developing a qb so we’ll see who the OC. 
 

but all in all, it’s still the Jets.

I guess. I'm just restating what I heard. I heard that the players essentially thought of him the same way they thought of Dan Campbell, which, Campbell was able to change the culture, so maybe he can as well. Time will tell.

A couple of takes from GMFB today on the Glenn hiring:

 

Akbar:  How will Rodgers react to Glenn?  Will Rodgers try to undermine Glenn?  (My interpretation of this is: that's what Rodgers did to Saleh).

 

Kyle:  This move sounds like a rehash of previous coaching changes.  It's nice that Parcels endorsed Glenn, but Parcels has been out of football for 15 years and out of coaching for more than 20.  This seems like a move to placate disgruntled fans.  (My interpretation of this is: sell tix and merchandise).
