It’s not so much speed, but the craft of getting a free release, running routes, maintaining fluidity through cuts, and how to confuse DBs at the top of stems. If he can start to master that and add some strength he’ll be able to put DBs in awkward situations. Quote

It is hard to make a living as an outside receiver in the NFL if every boundary catch is contested. And unless he can work on the things that will help him separate more effectively that is where he is stuck. There certainly is enough hours in a day, days in a week to do both. Quote
Greybeard Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I haven't read all the posts in this thread, so I don't know if anyone else mentioned this. There was a game in the playoffs, I can't remember which game, where the left tackle performed the exact same move that Dawkins did. No penalty. On top of that, the announcers singled the play out as a great technique. I wish I could remember the game but too many playoffs games blur my memory. 1 Quote

It is the offense’s version of a very poorly called PI on the defense. Holding calls are drive killers. This is the second time this year Dion has been flagged for masterful o-line play. Obviously, it’s in the history books but c’mon refs - be better with what you are looking at. Baldy nails it i don;t know in any way what that ref was thinking or what he thought he saw but it wasn't a penalty & i hope that the NFL sits him down and points out just how wrong he was ... 1 Quote
