For a team that was projected to be second or third place in AFCEast.
A team that lost veteran safeties, a stud WR, other departures.

Win or lose vs KC, I’m at peace with our team.

If we win, awesome.
If we lose, it happens.

Im very relaxed about this year’s team. Can only get better.

Two things can be true:

1.  You're happy with how far we made it

2. You're conditioning yourself for another loss to the Chefs

A truly wild take.

I assume that you would think John Harbaugh should be fired as well?

Teams were frothing at the mouth to hire Mike Vrabel this year. Imagine if McDermott had been available.
You would be hiring a coach in February, choosing between the leftovers of the coaching cycle, and trusting Allen in his prime to A) someone learning how to be a head coach, B) a 75 year old man who adds nothing schematically or C) a retread with a much worse winning percentage than your old coach.

I respectfully disagree. I think two statements at the start of the season are true. This is a rebuilding year. And the Bills window is never closed with Josh Allen.

Beane has 10 picks in a defense heavy draft. And a bit of cap space to work with that he didn't have this year.

He needs to land some difference makers on defense, and another outside receiver threat. Both of those are doable next off season.

I'm not remotely counting the Bills out against KC. But a tough loss at Arrowhead means nothing for next season the (hopefully) retooled roster Beane is able to build.

The main issue is that it's hard to get back here.  KC and NE all those years make it look easy but it's not.  Maybe next season Cinci is back hosting playoff games, or maybe the Bills have to play at Baltimore in a Divisional.  The path might be a lot harder.  or maybe the Bills can go off and have three consecutive years as the 1 seed while Allen is still in his prime?  we just don't know.  Take advantage now.

I didn't buy into all the negativity during the preseason.  I thought as long as we had McD and Josh, we'd be alright.  But with $36 million in dead cap and a bunch of jettisoned captains, I did have concerns about the strength of the roster.  So I projected another AFCE crown but a short run in the playoffs.  I didn't expect to be in the AFCCG so I'm thrilled we're exceeding expectations.

But now that we're here, I'm hungry for more.  These opportunities are rare and that part of my heart where Bills hopes live is blazing like a furnace.  Maybe the Bills aren't actually the best team in the NFL this year.  But just two more wins gets us the trophy.  Just two.  The Gridiron Gods can give us that.

There's no viable replacement out there. Johnson & Vrabel are not an option now. Belichick is in NC. McCarthy will likely get the Saints or Raiders job. Regardless, McD wouldn't be fired if the team lost 71-24. And great coaches were available.

But...I'm of the opinion he should be gone with a loss. Specifically, one where his D is shredded.

How could you not be upset with yet another loss to the same team?

I'm legitimately asking. Not trying to be rude.

Why would I be upset losing to one of the greatest dynasties in the history of the sport? You aren't supposed to beat these teams, especially in their home stadium.

Put the shoe on the other foot. If you're a Chiefs fan, how would you feel losing to the Bills - a team without a 1st team All pro player, a 1000 yard receiver, a 4000 yard passer, and a defense with a double-digit sacker or anyone with more than 2 INTs, in your own house. The Chiefs should expect to win this game by any metric, the Bills shouldn't.

They have NOT earned the right, yet. They have only earned it if they beat the Chiefs. They earned the right to that opportunity.

They've done enough this season to get to this point is what I mean. They've been a top three team all year.

It's not as if they are Denver who was just elated to make it.

What will you do? I personally will follow the roster building for next year and get excited for the 2025 season opener.

Follow the team as I always have.

I disagree but I’m one of the handful of people in the offseason who wasn’t calling this a rebuilding year. I’ve been begging this regime to get younger and faster for the last 3 years and they finally started that process this year and I expect it to happen next year as well since they are likely to have 10 draft picks.

This team is as capable as the other 3 if not more to win the SB. It’s time for this bunch

I honestly can't say the season is a success until we beat KC in the post season.

How do we show the rest of the league how far we've come, but still not being able to beat the best?.........and like it or not, KC is still the best until we dethrone them. This KC team is the most beatable they've ever been and who we've faced in the past 5 or so years and if we can't beat them, then we are just another franchise that tried and failed to make a bid for the crown.

Sorry, not sorry.

We beat them in their house frequently during the regular season. Let's not act as if they blow us out. So, said regular season success proves they can play with these guys. This isn't Denver yoing into KC. This is a top three team going in there.

So yes, a loss would hurt and make me angry. They are more than capable of beating them.

It's not 2020 anymore. Where just making it to the AFC title game was a successful season. That year I knew we had no chance at winning.

Our time is NOW. We have to Slay the dragon. If we lose yes ultimately it was a successful season and we exceeded expectations but these opportunities don't come around often and its very hard to get back to this spot. In #17 I trust

I just can’t understand this with the chiefs doing absolutely historic things to every coach in the nfl come playoff time.  If it was just mcd with the issue I 100% get it.

Let’s say for arguments sake they beat the bills and threepeat this year against the eagles.  That would put them at 18-3 in the mahomes era in the playoffs with the only loss in regulation being against the Bucs in the superbowl.  Clearly if you’re gonna beat them it is pretty much assured it’s gonna be a ridiculously close game that could go either way much like the last two playoff games we played against them and all of the recent regular season ones.

The head coaches responsible for 2 of those 3 wins are retired and the third is Zac Taylor lol like where is this head coach coming from that’s gonna flip the script? In fact, I think a big part in Ben Johnson taking the bears job was to stay in the NFC to avoid the chiefs.

if you take out the 4 bills games(assuming we lose this one and they win the Super Bowl) the chiefs would be 14-3 still, and do we really think the ravens would’ve had more luck based on their history vs kc? I doubt it.  Baltimore won one fluky game against them where the chiefs fumbled away the game in gw field goal range and lost the rest.

Of course you are right--this team has shown time and time again they fold under pressure and do not have the mindset to improve, get better, no matter the circumstances.

If they don't win, this is a lost season, and the Bills will not recover.  It will be time for dramatic changes in leadership as well.

The Bills will likely fire the coaching staff and bring back someone like Dorsey to steer the Bills into the future, to a championship.

“Not good enough”

”Not good enough”

”Not good enough”

What a miserable mentality to have.

Truth is, this team can with the SB and the narrative will shift, quickly, to one isn’t good enough.

Sit back and enjoy the ride, fans have zero impact on the outcome.

Sorry, not sorry.

This.

For 20 years the fans had to endure a dynasty in the division. A top 5 QB of all time. The organization had junk after junk at QB. We were jealous of the Patrots succes. Everyone wondered if we would get the guy at QB someday.

Then, somehow we do get the guy. And...people will be ok with another year going by with no SB appeareance. Another loss to the same team and coaches?

Allen is nearing 30. New England is thrash now. But what happens if they get the right players in. Maye becomes an elite QB. And..winning the division is no longer a given?

Can't keep letting these opportunities slide through our fingers.

This is a defeatist attitude. If you don’t win it all your season was a failure. I’ve read that here, so it must be true. All the enjoyment I’ve had this season is somehow going to be magically ripped away from me. Not sure how that works exactly, but I hope it doesn’t hurt.

Your problem is you are doing it wrong.  You are not supposed to have any enjoyment during the season - you are supposed to be miserable - the only enjoyment you are allowed to have is if your team wins the SB.  Do not celebrate or enjoy any team or individual successes during the season or playoffs - because they don't matter if you don't win the SB.  Enjoyment at any other time for a team you are a fan of and root for is just a loser attitude

Is that the message in the locker room this week ya think?
