Buffalo_Stampede Posted January 21 Posted January 21 I have a question, can a spotter put a player in concussion protocol if they notice something at the end of the game? Im not sure how it works. I wonder if that’s what is going on. So now Benford just has to go through the protocol because a spotter noticed something and wanted Benford checked out. Quote
Uncle Monkeyhead Posted January 21 Posted January 21 I laugh when people say "he didn't get hit in the head" and use that to rule out a possible concussion. It should be pointed out, you can suffer one without an actual hit to the head area. It's the brain either getting rattled or hitting the inside of the skull. You can experience whiplash and get a concussion even though your dome was never physically hit on the outside Quote

We're still in good shape for next week compared to previous years, but this one was a surprise. Hope he's okay & that he's back for KC. Average time for return in the NFL is 9 days, but a lot of guys don't miss a game. Davis took alot harder hit and he returned. CB will be cleared by Sunday. 1 Quote

If a player takes a big hit and demonstrates a symptom of a concussion or potential concussion they have steps a player goes through that are pretty definitive if a player suffered a concussion. It's from my layman's opinion a gradient and not necessarily a hard demarcation between having a concussion and not. I do know eye dilation and seizure are serious symptoms and the player is ruled out. Quote

I think our defense as a whole is better this year. I could be wrong but I get the sense Benford will play. The play seemed harmless enough when he got injured. I get a feeling that if it was earlier in the game he would have been cleared to go back in. Quote
oldschoolfootball1963 Posted Sunday at 05:01 PM Posted Sunday at 05:01 PM I don’t know what’s going on with Christian Bedford. It’s like a complete media blackout. Nobody knows what’s going on hundreds of thousands of Bill fans are waiting to hear if he’s gonna play and yet we get nothing from the bills repeat reporters I don’t get it and don’t understand it. The bottom line is we need the information so let’s get on the ball people. 2 2 Quote
Sojourner Posted Sunday at 05:02 PM Posted Sunday at 05:02 PM Might be the old Bellichick tactic. Keep the other team in the dark? That’s not his MO but rather a hopeful nod to the silence. We need him. 1 Quote
Cash Posted Sunday at 05:04 PM Posted Sunday at 05:04 PM We really don’t need this information 6 hours before kickoff. And - good news - we shall receive this information 90 minutes before kickoff. 1 1 Quote
Special K Posted Sunday at 05:05 PM Posted Sunday at 05:05 PM I'm pretty sure the fact that he got on the plane is a good sign that he is playing...... Concussion protocol would have kept him off the plane if he had a setback, I believe. 4 1 1 Quote
DrDawkinstein Posted Sunday at 05:06 PM Posted Sunday at 05:06 PM Teams dont want the public (aka OTHER TEAMS) to know anything more about injury status than what is required. No one dropped any ball. The Bills dont want to tell the Chiefs, and rightfully so. Just now, Sojourner said: Might be the old Bellichick tactic. Keep the other team in the dark? I haven't thought that about flying but it makes sense I've been expecting him not to play but not for any particular reason, just a feeling. Quote
LabattBlue Posted Sunday at 05:08 PM Posted Sunday at 05:08 PM What difference does it make if you know or not? Nothing you can do about it, once you are provided your much needed update. 1 1 Quote
nucci Posted Sunday at 05:13 PM Posted Sunday at 05:13 PM inactive list released 90 minutes before kickoff...why don't people know this? Quote
muppy Posted Sunday at 05:14 PM Posted Sunday at 05:14 PM @Tuco what do you think mate? Is he being on the flight indicative in any way of his protocol / playing status? Quote
